White House Dispatch: Bush Cabinet official to visit Oval Office

Washington (CNN) - President Obama has been known to occasionally criticize the Bush administration, but he's rolling out the red carpet for a member of the former President's Cabinet.

On Friday, Mr. Obama is scheduled to sit down in the Oval Office with former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

A White House official said the President and Rice have a "cordial relationship." As for what's on the agenda, the official added that "they'll talk about a range of foreign policy issues" during the meeting.

The former Bush official is in town promoting her new book "Extraordinary, Ordinary People: A Memoir of Family.

The book is about the people who shaped her life, and the journey that ultimately led her to the White House.

Even Condi knows Obama's administration is better than Bush's.

I hope they will have a good visit, if for nothing else, just to boost his morale a bit in these times of low approval rating for him and his party. I disagree with his policy, but I really feel sorry for him. Really, listening to a friendly opponent might do one good to see things from a different perspective.

Now that's a very smart move from Obama, that is one very smart, knowledgeable, experienced woman, it's a shame he doesn't seek her counsel.

"Occasionally criticize the Bush administration" This inept, incompetent, lying corrupt union toady has done nothing but. He cannot accept his own failures and incompetence and has to blame someone like liberals always do. I am disappointed that a classy intellect like Ms. Rice would have anything to do with a thug like Obama. Would love to see her run for president in 2012. It would really be interesting to see how the left wing media (everyone except Fox) would demean and degrade her and show how bigoted and anti feminist they are, like they do with Palin and O' Donnell.

Maybe now that Obama has decided that it's Joe Biden by his side in 2012 Hillary Clinton has gone into a rage and now Obama wants to bring in a professional for the job?!?!? I'm not speculating...I'm dreaming.

    We miss you Connie.

Condoleeza Rice is a great American and has served her country well. Maybe he wants to talk to her about taking Hillary's place as Secretary of State so he can have Hillary as Vice President on the 2012 ticket and get rid of Biden. No I think it was because he can't believe a African American can be a conservative much like Harry Reid doesn't understand how Hispanics can be Conservative. News flash Liberals not all minorities choose to live off of Government handouts and don't feel they are a victim.

How nice for them. Don't want her book.
I think the Evangelicals should meet with the IRS.
Kudos to Tom Cohen: He reported on Obama's town hall, stating the students were "respectful but challenging".
They should challenge, and leave it to the young to be respectful. Lessons for the old goats, and some of the
haters that blog about President Obama.
Mr. Cohen reported this story without inuendo, personal opinion, and straightforward. More lessons for most
of the other "in love with Pain" Ticker reporters.

She was an unfortunate puppet of the W machine, but otherwise one of the more promising and interesting people of that incompetent and mean-spirited administration.

Does this look like a possible cabinet member to you ? might be ... free up Hillary for the VP side of the next ticket ? For sure Obama's administration could use someone with Rice's pluck. She's a go getter. I'd pay a dollar to see that !

Even though I did not believe in the BUSH POLICIES – I truly respect Condoleezza Rice. I look forward to reading her first novel "Extraordinary, Ordinary People: A Memoir of Family" because she LIVED the African American STRUGGLE; she fought the odds; educated herself and will be a memorable success story.

This is T'SAH from Virginia and I approve this message!!!!

I'm quite sure it will be a very cordial meeting between one of the sisters and a brother. How sweet. I just wonder what these two incompetents will converse about. And what advice will be offered.

This is as bad as Pres O meeting with radical right winger Jan Brewer of AZ. Who is advising him on this type of thing? RIce is hyping her book and we'll see far too much of her on every show we surf through. Why should the President help her?

What's she going to do....give Obama lessons on how to lie? She has that one downpat. Or maybe he wants to start another war and needs help with how to fabricate evidence.
