Joe Miller responds on job questions

(CNN) – Republican candidate for Senate in Alaska, Joe Miller, admitted he was disciplined for the misuse of local government computers but said it was not a factor in his eventual departure from his job as an attorney at the Fairbanks North Star Borough (an area of Alaska) in September 2009.

The former mayor of Fairbanks said last week that Miller left his post because the borough planned to fire him over using borough computers for election business while attempting to become the head of the Alaska Republican Party. On Monday Miller responded.

"The event in question is something that happened during my time off," Miller told CNN Chief National Correspondent John King. "So it was during my lunch hour."

Miller, in an interview taped for CNN's John King, USA that airs at 7 p.m. ET, said his departure from the borough had nothing to do with the event that happened nearly two years before.

King asked him to clarify his remarks:

"Is this a fair statement, in your view that at the time this happened, you were disciplined for something, but it had nothing to do with why… you left the agency down the road?"

Miller responded, "Absolutely."

He also defended the security team that handcuffed a reporter after a campaign event he held on Sunday.

"The behavior that was demonstrated (by the reporter) while I was there was assaultive," Miller said. "This was a professional team... I'm sure that they did the right thing."

He's just like Sarah. Claim he stands for the constitution but spits on it with actions like this. They're not for freedom of speech, religion, or anything unless it's only theirs, no one elses. I'm glad Lisa M is starting to beat him in the polls.

...and unemployment benefits are unconstitutional, and the people collecting them are deadbeats (with the exception of immediate family members).

So to clarify, Mr. Miller, you admit to violations of ethics rules of your post as a public servant, were disciplined, and then later quit. But we should all forgive you for it and not let your unethical behavior cloud our judgement in an election for a new post as a public servant? Oh, ok. I get it now.

Interesting...yet AGAIN the GOP clones stick heads in sand collectively and refuse to acknowledge reality. When a journalist (note that does not mean commentator fruit-loop from Fox GOP Inc.) asks a legit question, the GOP candidate attempts to arrest him or makes threat to take him out. Now the truth is exposed....but you GOP clones will not disappoint me and soon will label this story a left-wing liberal conspiracy.

I'm glad he was smoked out. He had been avoiding the press - that's so weak. Then he had some reporter arrested. And these are the chuckleheads that worry about the "power of big government."

Miller is a liar, it was more than a computer that got him fired and it's easy to see that when he states "it was during my lunch hour".

This is a glimspe of what is become of the New Republican Tea Party lack of ethics. The Tea Party has the understanding of the consititution and the government of a seventh grader. The GOP has been put in corner to defend these misfits candidates. The GOP will have to relive Jack Abramoff scandel all over again. Joe Miller believe he's above the law of scrutiny.

I think people are more interested in a Joe Miller statement regarding his security detail and their handcuffing of a journalist trying to get Miller's answers to these questions.

Miller sounds like a child getting caught with his hand in the cookie jar. 'Quit before you are fired or arrested,' it's the Palin Motto, and Miller has learned well.

I don't think we need to pile on for such a minor action - unless he did it repeatedly or spent hours at it. There are enough substantive issues to pound him on.

So king not only asked the question he formulated an answer for Miller that clearly was created to let Miller weasle off the hook. Great interviewing skills. Nest time let the weasle figure his own way off the hook. Just what this country needs a bunch of these brain dead tea baggers preaching the old don't do what I do do what I say. 54 Million drank the koolaid when Bush ran not once but twice they will probably do it again.

Interesting thing I heard the other day – we used to want "educated" people and people who knew about government elected as our leaders. Now it seems that those types are "elitists". People who were able to attend Ivy League universities are somehow "demonized now". Well, Mr. Miller attended I believe Yale. President Bush went to Yale.

Why is it now so wrong to be able to attend a great school and get a great education. Now they're "elitist". So you rather have someone like Ms. O'Donnell, who just finished school (and lied about it). Who's never been in government (although is a professional at trying) making decisions about the U.S. Could you imagine O'Connell or Palin talking to a foreign dignatary about policy? That's scary.

I guess when teabaggers refer to "freedom" they mean the freedom to get rid of anyone who questions them or disagrees with their ideology.
