Palin no fan of Maureen ‘O’Dowd’

(CNN) –- Sarah Palin is shrugging off a recent column from New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd - or rather Maureen “O’Dowd” - in which Dowd called Palin the “queen bee” of mean girls.

"That's so funny, because I don't think I've ever met that gal, Maureen Dowd - O'Dowd - whatever the heck her name is,” said a laughing Palin Monday in an interview with Fox News.

I don't think I've ever met her, and I don't think - she probably hasn't met [Arizona Gov.] Jan Brewer or some of these other wonderful, pleasant, gracious, nice, hard-working mama grizzlies who are wanting to turn this country around.

“So Maureen can say whatever she says. I encourage the other mama grizzlies and liberty-loving Americans to just keep smiling."

In her column Sunday, Dowd identified Brewer, Palin, Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell, California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman, California Senate candidate Carly Fiorina, Connecticut Senate candidate Linda McMahon, Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle, and Rep. Michele Bachmann as "grown-up versions of those teenage tormentors who would steal your boyfriend, spray-paint your locker and, just for good measure, spread rumors that you were pregnant."

Oh mama grizzly. Please go home. You lost. Time to get over it. You only succeed in making yourself look more ignorant with every rally you attend.

Maurine Dud or O'Dud must have been one those girls in school who was afraid of her own shadow. She as a liberal columnist and her colleagues remind me of the liberal politicians, who seem to be the ones who were beat-up on the playground. Now they are trying to get even.

It's pretty obvious that Moron Outloud, I mean Maureen Dowd is a little biased. To be thought of as stupid is one thing, but to open your mouth an prove it is another. To put it in writting documents it. Just another example of biased media...

Palin is a quitter. Remember how Bush "quit" the National Guard once he avoided Vietnam? Palin quit so she could go after the big bucks telling the sheeple what to think! She appeals to the brainless masses who don't know that Democracy is dead in America.

Maureen Dowd is an excellent commentator on American politics, often taking the somewhat unpopular stance and always doing it with her brand of humor.

Just to show how successful and prominent she is, well, she's got Palin talking about her, doesn't she? If Maureen Dowd was of little consequence, a sane person wouldn't bother responding to her. Hrm...

O'Dowd is correct. The problem is these Conservative women are not only bullies, they're clueless. I can't believe how stupid they sound when they open their mouths. I would expect more from Mrs. Whitman and Ms. Fiorina as former CEO's of major corporations, but they say things just as stupid as Palin and Bachmann. Mrs. Palin has decent looks and somehow she is the Republican beauty queen who can do no wrong. The 2nd runner up in Ms. Alaska doesn't wish for world peace, she wants war and a country full of dumb people. Thanks John McCain, you are the real idiot.

Like her or not, Palin has a point. Pundits, columnists and commentators love to psychoanalyze public figures, particularly politicians, from a distance. How much does Dowd really know about Palin? Yet she feels qualified to make definitive statements about her character.

Maureen Dowd is usually very perceptive. However, she is wrong in one aspect of her characterization of these Republican women. She called them 'grown-up'.

Not too much hate flowing from Dowd (O'Dowd... whatever) ...noooooo!
It sure seems like she's carrying a bit of baggage there ... she might think of addressing that at some point!

This is what they've come to? There's nothing to say about these Conservative women, so now they are calling them "Mean Girls"? Aren't "Mean Girls" the popular ones? The ones that everyone wants to be? The group that everyone wants to be a part of? Hmmm....I thought that Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachmann and all the others were obsolete?
Nice name calling tactics from the pathetic left. Nice try-I think that what Maureen Dowd is saying is exactly true about liberals, but when in doubt play the projection game.

"That's so funny, because I don't think I've ever met that gal, Maureen Dowd – O'Dowd – whatever the heck her name is,” said a laughing Palin.

That's because you don't READ!! Furthermore, you only SPEAK to FOX (until last night when that African American reporter got you to talk because you did not know where he was from...LMAO).

And Maureen, I think, hit it head ON!! The 'Barbie Doll' teens who get angry if they are not elected QUEEN at the end of the year; or if the handsome NEW kid @ school don't HIT ON THEM first they get upset and play tricks on the 'underdog' who is chosen!!

DEMOCRATS – Please get out and VOTE in November 2010!!! We must keep out those who feel the election should be 'handed to them on a SILVER PLATTER!!!'

This is T'SAH from Virginia and I approve this message!!

Marueen Dowd hit the nail on the head with her calling Palin, et al, "mean girls."

I've been saying the same thing ever since Palin was foisted onto the American public by that sell-out, McCain.

Why anyone would vote for any of those mean girls is beyond me!

The women Dowd listed are the most obnoxious and irritating women ever assembled for office. Nothing but bunch of loud, self promoting bafoons. They are a nightmare in the making.
Palins mouth is non stop. She never shuts up. She just yaps and flaps. She is a pack leader for middle aged unhappy and angry women

All the above mentioned are fads of the GOP9and a horrible one at that).......Megan McCain, SE Cupp, and even Tea Party leader, Dana Loesch, though I don't agree with all their views (as a conservative liberal), are the real future of the GOP.......These 3, can actually sit and discuss weighty topics with progressives, and not demagogue.......These are the types, that though I wouldn't cast a vote for, I would not fear being in power.

IIt makes sense that Palin wouldn't know who Maureen Dowd is. Dowd writes a REGULAR column in a major US newspaper. More proof that Palin was LYING when she tried to answer the famous "what newspapers do you read" question. Not that everyone didn't already know that. That "mama grizzly" WANNABE needs to learn that mean, vindictive and IGNORANT is no way to go through life. She should "man up" and try reading a book or newspaper that ISN'T on the Fox News Approved Reading List.

Maureen Dowd has Palin pegged to a tee. Probably the others too, but Palin's behavior has always reminded me of a vindictive eighth grader. Mean spirited, dishonest, and, the always overlooked fact, a quitter who pretended to be sacrificing herself for others, while lining her pockets with money. I have never understood why her followers continue to contribute, but they also contribute to the likes of Sharron Angle, Christine O'Donnell, and that kooky governor in Arizona. Lying straightfaced, manipulating, and envious of each other, these people end up eating their own in the end.

I may noit agree with a lot of what Palin says, but I agree with her here. Maureen thinks women can only be Liberal Democrats. Refreshingly, that is not the case. I know many beautiful, intelligent women who are Conservatives.

love how Dowd pretty much chose whatever republican females she could find, and chose to label them. I thought reporting was supposed to be unbiased? And the NYT wonders why its readers are moving away from it. Get a clue people!

Dowd is correct about the above listed people. I don't know if these women really can do a proper job if they are elected. Some of them have opinions that would have curled even Reagan's hair. Should any of these "tea partiers" get into office, it would be interesting to see how quickly they change their values and compromise on legislation that leave a bad taste in the other "bagger" mouths. You can't govern without making some compromise.

Dowd is another NY lib with no sense of the real America, and so symbolic of the anti feminism and intolerance for free speech that is representative of the Democrat liberal party. Very elitist.

Did Palin have to look at her hand to repeat the same old tired cliches? She has her standard phrases that she thinks are so cute and perky, but actually sound immature. I'd love to see her in a one on one debate with a world leader and use those stupid phrases.
