(CNN) –- Sarah Palin is shrugging off a recent column from New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd - or rather Maureen “O’Dowd” - in which Dowd called Palin the “queen bee” of mean girls.
"That's so funny, because I don't think I've ever met that gal, Maureen Dowd - O'Dowd - whatever the heck her name is,” said a laughing Palin Monday in an interview with Fox News.
I don't think I've ever met her, and I don't think - she probably hasn't met [Arizona Gov.] Jan Brewer or some of these other wonderful, pleasant, gracious, nice, hard-working mama grizzlies who are wanting to turn this country around.
“So Maureen can say whatever she says. I encourage the other mama grizzlies and liberty-loving Americans to just keep smiling."
In her column Sunday, Dowd identified Brewer, Palin, Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell, California gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman, California Senate candidate Carly Fiorina, Connecticut Senate candidate Linda McMahon, Nevada Senate candidate Sharron Angle, and Rep. Michele Bachmann as "grown-up versions of those teenage tormentors who would steal your boyfriend, spray-paint your locker and, just for good measure, spread rumors that you were pregnant."

This once again shows Sarah Palin does not read books and/or magazines. If she did, she would know Maureen's name. Have Sarah Palin read her own books she is going around the country to sell Conservatives. I am 100% sure anyone with any sense would not read this fiction book(s).

No one needs to meet Palin or any of her other loony followers to clearly assess that Dowd nailed this one out of the park! It's a crazy and bizarre situation with these women. Just because they are women, does not incite most educated women to follow their Dark Ages agendas. They mostly appeal to horny men anyway. Even my husband sees that and required no coaching from me!
Since Palin barely knows what the NYTimes looks like, and would not understand words of more than one or two syllables (does she know what a syllable is?) - doesn't matter. Hell, she reads "all of them" – right?

This should debunk the myth that we'd be better off if all of our political leaders were women. Maureen Dowd has not forgot her 6th Grade experiences.
Palin is such an amateur. She can't take the heat. She can't take criticism. She sure can dish it out, though, even before she finds out what she's talking about. She forms her opinions by listening to what the Democrats are for, then coming out against it. Doesn't matter what the issue or position. She's the perfect Karl Rove candidate. No convictions, just opposition. American voters who listen to her are going to get just what they deserve, to be hung out to dry, so that the wealthy, the corporations and the conservative power grabbers will benefit and all of us will suffer for it.
Sorry Sarah, joking won't help the reality. She wouldn't have had to meet you, it is apparent to anybody with half a brain just listening to you.

I am so sick of this phrase "liberty loving Americans", coming from an ignoramus who knows virtually nothing about the United States history. As if people who criticize her are not genuine Americans who value freedom. Palin's propensity to 'fire back' at every single detractor exposes her belligerent nature. This became most evident during her confrontation with the teacher in Alaska.

it appears that what Sarah doesn't get is that you don't HAVE to actually meet her to form an opinion of her. Just read the stuff she says and follow what she does. I'm sure like many of those who don't like her, a lot of her fans never really met her either. Wow, even Palin's response sounds snarky and hostile, laughing at the woman and purposely mispronouncing her simply spelled and common last name. Reminds me of that stand-offish video with her and the upset school teacher. When I hear comments like this, her appeal just baffles me.
