CNN 100: Democratic powerhouse could lose his seat

Editor's Note: In the final 100 days before Election Day, CNN has been profiling one race at random each day from among the nation's top 100 House races, which we've dubbed "The CNN 100." Read the full list here.Today's featured district is:

PA 11: Rep. Paul Kanjorski (D) defends his seat.
Primary: May 18, 2010
Days until the election: 14

A Democratic powerhouse is on the line here in Pennsylvania's 11 district, and he'll have to give it everything he's got in order to keep his seat. Rep. Paul Kanjorski – a 26 year veteran of the House and the Chairman of the Financial Services committee is being challenged for the third time by Republican Lou Barletta.

Barletta, who is major of Hazelton, has been hammering away on all the issues voters across the country are holding against incumbents this year: jobs, taxes, and the economy in general. Kanjorski is an easy target, give his seniority in the Democratic caucus.

But this district is solidly blue, and voters here, despite their concerns about jobs and the economy, have remained loyal to their Democratic congressman for almost three decades.

Both party committees are heavily invested here as the candidates spend money as fast as they can raise it. It will be the pedal to the metal here until November 2.

26 years? This man needs a real job. Send him back home to work for a living. With his experience as a Democrat liberal, he can easily qualify for a job as a corrupt union boss.

"Rep. Paul Kanjorski – a 26 year veteran of the House and the Chairman of the Financial Services committee"...

Interestingly enough according to the financialservices.house.gov the Chairman of the Financial Services committee is still Barney Frank. So when did this change and when did Kanjorski take his place?

    Where's the fact-checking CNN?

Gee are you spinning it correctly CNN. I know your corporate masters want the republicans to win, but no matter how much you spin the polling of 700 people there are about a couple of million in that district and they all don't jump on Razzymuffins. band wagon. Of course since they poll 75 per cent republicans to 25 per cent others, because they say republicans vote, don't know what Democrats do, get wiped off the ballot box by the republicans?? But then your corporate republican owners tell you to go REPUBLICAN what can you do?

Does everyone know that there are eight media companies in this country. And just two years ago seven were owned by corporate republican companies. Now you tell me it is a liberal media. The push this because the American public is so easily led they don't look into the real world.

We have to purge the govt. of all the Progressive Democrats, and 26 years of corruption means that Kanjorski has got to go!

We must purge and defeat the cancer that Progressive Democrat politics causes.
