New Poll: Dem holds bigger lead in Connecticut

(CNN) – Connecticut's Democratic Senate nominee, Richard Blumenthal is widening his lead over Republican nominee Linda McMahon, according to a new poll.

The Suffolk University Poll released Thursday shows Blumenthal, the state attorney general leading McMahon, the former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment by 18 points, 57 percent to 39 percent. The University surveyed 500 likely voters and had a margin of error of 4.4 percent. Blumenthal has remained consistently ahead in recent polls.

He led by 11 percentage points in a recent Quinnipiac University Survey, and the most recent CNN/Time/Opinion Research Corporation poll showed McMahon trailing by 13 percentage points.

The winner in November will succeed five-term Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd, who announced earlier this year that he would not run for re-election.

Check out CNN's new Polling Center, which provides the most comprehensive polling data covering national questions and the top 2010 election races of any news organization in the political landscape.

It is good to see Connecticut saying "No!" to the multi-millionaire entertainer elitist who wants to eliminate the minimum wage.

There is no way that the elite, very rich Democrat Connecticut would vote for a Republican, that's Kennedy land also. And I don't think those elite people will allow the poor and average income residents of connecticut to vote in a Republican, they're not about to lose their workers.

Finally Middle America is waking up to these hate filled Tea Bagger's who want everyday hard working families to work for pennies while they rake in millions, And to keep them from reaching the American dream. We need to stop this Anti – Muslim ,Anti Black , Anti Public Education ,Anti Minimum Wage , Anti – American and Anti President Obama...Where the majority of Americans elected this congress and it's time we hold CNN and other news organizations accountable for trying to discourage minority's voters from voting...Just as they assisted in Bush's war in Iraq where thousands died so they could get great ratings...The Blood is still on CNN'S hands...Now they are trying to elect these radicals to congress ...

Wow, 500 people polled...whatever transpires it will not matter, the House is gone and the Senate more evenly balance if not won. Obama and his liberal progressive crap is DONE, he will fade away into history with the accolade of surpassing Jimmy Carter as the worst President with the worst Congress in the entire history of the United States. QUESTION: If Juan Williams is fired for making the statement he made what does that say about the NAACP with their continued smear of racism on the tea party? Show us some facts and remember Civil Rights are for everyone!

Every time she appears in an unscripted environment, she loses ground! Yes, she scored a win because Blumenthal has spent so much time in government that he does not know how a job is created (although I have been working for the same company for 18 years now and I still don't know how we create jobs). Also, people are tired of being saturated by her e-mails and robo calls. My wife is officially an Independent and she gets one call per day from the McMahon campaign.

Another thing. One of my son's who is always mellow and easy to handle became very hyper when he was nine years old. Why because he was watching WWE at his friend's house everyday. When I found out, I immediately put a stop to that and to this day 18 years later, I think wrestling (especially fake wrestling with the likes of Hulk Hogan, etc.) is dangerous. MaMahon is dangerous too since she promotes this kind of thinking.

How can this be, CNN? According to you, every Democrat running for ellective office is going to lose big this year in the mid-term elections! Do you want to revise your constant headlines that we have to read day in and day out about how bad the Dems. are doing this election cycle? Either that, or this story must be so very wrong!

This is hard to believe and where did this , yet another, school poll come from.
The most reliable? "Surveys conducted by professional polling organizations on a periodic basis which repeatedly ask the same question. Many times people, who get polled, do not know what they are answering and often pick the first name read to them. The pollsters know this and take advantage of this point.

On the other hand, Obama is hitting the College students for votes and support because; faculties, long assumed a liberal bastion, lean further to the left than even the most conspiratorial conservatives might have imagined, a new study says.

By their own description, 72 percent of those teaching at American universities and colleges are liberal and 15 percent are conservative, says the study being published this week. The imbalance is almost as striking in partisan terms; with 50 percent of the faculty members surveyed identifying themselves as Democrats and 11 percent as Republicans.

According to an investigation by the New York Times, Blumenthal joined the Marine Reserves after receiving numerous draft deferments, and never saw combat in Vietnam. The Times also found that Blumenthal was not a member of the Harvard swim team, much less its captain. We need to hire someone else for this JOB, Vote for McMahon

It seems that the more corrupt you are the more you seem to prosper in America. This man does not deserve even to be running for office. What is America becoming? America wants the rest of the world to be more democratic but the corruption that comes with this type of politics makes democracy a joke. What has happened to the honest man or woman? Do they no longer exist? We as the voters should not tolerate this type of politics and should vote against anyone who is not running a clean political campaign and living an honest life. Let's root out these type of politicians and set the example for the rest of the world. Why are we voting for people like Blumenthal/Rangel/Brown/Waters? Voters complain about the corruption but yet they will go and vote these people back in office. What is wrong with us as a nation? Have we lost our way and the only thing that counts now is dishonesty? Let's get back on track and get rid of all of these corrupt politicians. LET'S VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tea Party candidates are dropping like stones. American people are waking up to the fact they are right wing wingnuts. They cannot be trusted. They want to get rid of Social Security,Medicare,Minimum wage etc. They would get rid of apple pie and ice cream if they had the chance. Too bad the GOP does not have the guts to stand up to them instead of acting like cowards....

Perhaps Conn residents are starting to get a glimpse of those campaign ads being funded by Rove and his secret donors. The ones that state they are not affiliated with any political party. Pretty negative stuff, they are. We've had a few pop up now in Minnesota in an effort to help Tom Emmer run against Mark Dayton for Governor. All lies, of coarse, but then what isn't a lie coming from the right anymore? Kinda hard to support a candidate who benefits from this sneaky approach. Too many back room deals with some very shady characters who will absolutely need to be appeased after the election.

  21. Killer`s Instinct

Linda McMahon is like the mean, old person that was rude to people there whole life and now that they are about to die, they want to act nice so they can get into heaven.

She is a joke. She glorified the muscle bound jerk that kick sand in the face of the skinny guy. Through the tawdry soap opera [wrestling] that made her rich, she glorified barbie doll women gravitating to the muscle-headed buffons. Plus, how many wrestlers died or commited suicides while on steroids and Linda McMahon looked the other way .... while still counting the money?

Connecticut deserves better than her. She is trash. They don`t want to a joke in the eyes of the rest of the nation.

Congradulations should go to our MSM. They are successfully demonizing conservative women. Just as they do daily with Christine O'Donnell. Where is my proof? They ridicule O'Donnell's past YouTube moments, while ignoring foul-mouthed, Al Franken's past.
