(CNN) - The "Real Housewives" franchise on Bravo may have some competition. What about the "Real Democrats"?
If the new ad, sponsored by GOProud, a gay conservative group were true, the show's title would be "The Real Democrats of Washington, D.C." and the cast would include Massachusetts Democratic Rep. Barney Frank, California Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
"If you thought the housewives were dysfunctional, wait until you meet the real Democrats of Washington D.C.," the narrator in the ad says. "They're catty… they're arrogant… and they're in charge."
Ed Henry has covered the White House for CNN since March 2006. In "Henry in the House," he offers an insider's view of the Obama White House.
Las Vegas, Nevada (CNN) - This is a city that loves a great prizefight, and Sen. Harry Reid used to be a boxer, so it was inevitable at a big rally here Friday night that President Obama would cast his friend as the fighter who's about to get off the canvas and deliver an unexpected win.
But my takeaway from spending several days out West with the president this week is that he's the one who appears to be back in fighting shape. And that may be the best news Democrats have gotten in months.
Too often over the course of the past two years, Obama has had to deal with the same whispers that an aging prizefighter has to deal with: Quite simply, has he lost a step?
(CNN) - Less than two weeks before the midterm elections, one Republican thinks the president should spend less time on the campaign trail and more time creating jobs for Americans.
"President Obama has been running around the country trying to re-elect Democrat members of Congress," Sen. John Thune said in the weekly Republican address Saturday. "But if the conversations I've had with voters are any indication, the president should spend less time campaigning to save the jobs of Democrats in Congress, and more time trying to create jobs for the American people."
Editor's Note: In the final 100 days before Election Day, CNN has been profiling one race at random each day from among the nation's top 100 House races, which we've dubbed "The CNN 100." Read the full list here.Today's featured district is:
Nevada 3rd - Rep. Dina Titus (D) is seeking a 2nd term
Date of Primary: June 8
Location: Suburbs of Las Vegas, South end of Las Vegas strip
Days until Election Day: 10
In a Y-shaped district encompassing Las Vegas suburbs, X marks the spot for a House contest you wouldn't want to bet on.
Freshman Rep. Dina Titus is the first Democrat to represent Nevada's 3rd congressional district since its creation in 2003. And although President Obama won the district by 12 points, Titus won by only five. She may be happy to eek out a one-point victory this November.
