Sarah Palin says Americans are afraid of Obama's economic policies

Orlando, Florida (CNN) – As Sarah Palin urged about 2,000 Republican activists Saturday to keep working until the last minute to help guarantee GOP successes, she went after some recent comments by President Obama in which he said Americans are scared and frustrated and may not be thinking straight about the midterm elections. He has suggested Republicans were playing on that fear.

"Well, ya know Mr. President, you got it right on one point there, we are afraid - knowing that your economic policies are driving us off a cliff and your fundamental transformation of America is a nightmare. This is not the America that the rest of the people want, this is not the America that patriots fought and died for and still dying for today," she told the crowd.

She urged those in the audience to "exhaust ourselves" in the last 10 days leading up to the midterm elections to help get the vote out and to make sure no one is complacent.

"We can't think it is in the bag," she said. "We have to leave the dancing to the stars," a light-hearted reference to her daughter's participation in the ABC reality show.

"There are no second chances in elections" she warned the audience. "Ten days from now if we make this the biggest effort... the biggest Republican victory... we are going to take it back for we the people."

"Victory in 2010 is just the beginning," she said. She added Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman Michael Steele and his team would lead Republicans to "victory in 2012" but did not give any hints about whether she would be one of those running for the party's presidential nomination.

Marco Rubio, the Republican Senate nominee, appeared at the event Saturday, speaking near the beginning of the rally. He left the stage before Palin came on to speak. In her remarks she complimented him and other candidates, including Rick Scott, who is running for governor. Scott was not at the event.

Last week when Palin spoke at an RNC rally in California, neither Senate nominee Carly Fiorina nor gubernatorial nominee Meg Whitman attended that event, citing other commitments.

During Saturday's speech the crowd roared with applause when Palin went after the Obama administration's stimulus program, which she said included money aimed at studying whether alcohol impacted a mouse's motor skills.

"I didn't know Mickey had a drinking problem," she said to much laughter.

Both Palin and RNC Chairman Steele mentioned Democratic Rep. Alan Grayson, whose district includes the area where the event was held. Some Republicans and Tea Party activists believe Grayson conspired to build support for Tea Party activist Peg Dunmire on the ballot to draw votes from Republican candidate Daniel Webster.

"I hear there is some stuff going on down here" regarding Grayson, Steele said. "I am here to make it very clear... stop your perpetrating."

"Mr. Grayson you are no friend of the Tea Party," he added. "We are not playing that game. We are not fools."

"May that one-term wonder be retired," Palin said.

Ms. Palin....you have it wrong. I think most Americans were terrified of what you and McCain would have done if you were in power....15% unemployment, banks and corporations out of control, huge deficits because we would have been in war with Iran and North Korea, more tax cuts for the rich and corporations, more jobs outsourced!
President Obama suceeded in stopping the economy falling even harder. Corporations now have to hire. Remember the Government can't do everything. It is a bumpy ride to full recovery but I would rather have an intelligent, caring and thoughtful man directing us than the Tea Party know nothings.

How pathetic. Palin knows absolutely nothing about the importance of animal bridges or scientific research. She made a complete fool of herself. All she cares about is killing animals to eat or for a trophy.

What the full text should read is -"some gullible Americans are frightended by the fictional account of President Obama's economic policies which are peddled by lying scadalous right wing shills like sarah "tea baggin queen" palin and glen "boo hoo" beck." Truth is that if we were following republicon economic policies we would be well into the depths of the Second Great Depression. No real doubt about that at all. The only mistake President Obama made was underestimating the level and depth of the damage that republicons did to the economy under their reign of terror.

Palin, let's talk about the wonderful track record of GOP fiscal policies. Let's see, increased the national debt 110% during Bush's 8 years ! Deregulation of the banking and investment industries by the GOP controlled congress 1995 – 2007 that led to the biggest fiscal / monetary collapse since the great depression.

Thank Sarah for making me realize that I do not have to ponder who to vote for anymore. DEMOCRATS are the way to go. Now that my taxes were cut, I have health care now and my home was saved by their efforts. I don't know why I was thinking of giving you idiots a second chance.

Palin and Steele – both millionaires trying to tell the rest of us how we should vote and live. All they care about it making more money for themselves. How's that makin' millions, flyin' round in private jets, gettin' $100,000 per speech, draggin' your new kid around workin' for ya' Palin?

Palin doesn't care about you – that's for damn sure

  11. Not fooled

Let's see: Marco Rubio, Rick Scott, Carly Fiorina, Meg Whitman all distanced themselves from Palin hmmmmmm
Could it be because we have yet to hear one thing of SUBSTANCE come out of her high pitched shrill mouth? How much was she paid to speak? What is her economic policies? All this lady does is throw jabs and none of them connect. We want an America where our jobs are not sent over seas. We want an America where foreign money can't buy our elections. We want an America where our politicians answer our questions and not run from them.

"This is not the America that the rest of the people want, this is not the America that patriots fought and died for and still dying for today." Well, ya know, Sarah, ya got it right on one point there - an America where the blissfully ignorant believe your fear-mongering and your empty-headed rhetoric and where Tea Party nutjobs have an actual chance of winning an election is not the America that the rest of the people want.

Palin: I fear your kids will continue on the legacy and breed more idiots. You are a disgraze to all Alaskians and quite franly all Americans. You quit your government job to make money and got millions while walking away from public service. The only thing you are out for is getting your name in the media and getting bank. Please Sarah how much money would it take for you to shut up and never speak again to the media. I am sure a fund would be set up by many to get you out of the media.
