(CNN) – A last-minute trip to Arizona for former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin ended with an unlikely gift from controversial Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.
According to Arpaio's Twitter account, the tough on crime, anti-illegal immigration lightning rod gifted Palin a pair of pink underwear similar to those that inmates at his notorious Phoenix jail are supposedly required to wear.
"I just got done welcoming Sarah Palin to our County. Had a nice chat and gave her a pair of pink underwear," Arpaio tweeted Friday.
Palin arrived in Phoenix on Friday after kicking off a 15-day Tea Party Express tour on Monday to rally Tea Partiers in a final push before the midterm elections. It wraps up in New Hampshire on November 1.
CNN calls to the Arapio and Palin camps went unreturned Saturday.

Wow. It's good to see that Palin isn't the only one in the GOP who is setting back women's rights. Also, aren't those panties paid for by taxpayer dollars? Isn't that misuse of taxpayer funds? Some fiscal conservative this guy is.
Classic Palin: Buddies with one of the most corrupt, power mad swine in the country. She doesn't have the sense to know that this pinnacle of feculence deserves to spend the rest of his life wearing his pink underwear and eating his rotting food in his own jail.

That's just plain weird. Why does the sheriff think Sara Palin should have a pair of the pink underwear he expects his inmates to wear?Is that a hint? Sounds like he thinks as much of her as his inmates or else he is just sicko. Did she accept the gift? LOL:)

Seriously CNN? This is news...uh...why? Let's see: Our nation is drowning in debt; Congress is passing bills w/out knowing what's in them; Congress reps are taking money from foreign sources (both parties that you); Our president "might" have been born in another nation; Our election system in heavily democratic precincts is badly flawed where excessive voting per person occurs with regularity....I could go on and on, and this is what CNN puts on their ticker? And CNN wonders why they are no longer "The world's source for news." I hope CNN and their journalists can find a story that actually helps hold our elected representatives to account...not stories where CNN has an obsession with Sarah Palin...did good old George Soros give you money also?
