Cliff Clavin backing McMahon

(CNN) – Who knew? Cliff Clavin, America's favorite mailman and resident barstool know-it-all on the 1980's show Cheers, apparently has some strong opinions about the Senate race in Connecticut.

The campaign for Linda McMahon, the GOP Senate candidate and, released a Web video featuring John Ratzenberger, the actor who played Cliff, marching in a parade for McMahon and declaring that the former World Wide Wrestling CEO "lives the American Dream."

"The state of Connecticut needs someone like Linda to turn it around," says the 1980's fixture in the video. "Somebody who understands business, how to create jobs, she's really a force of nature."

Recent polls show McMahon trailing Democrat Richard Blumenthal by double

I can hear that New England accent now: "...Wellllll. Ya know, Normie – It's a little-known fact that back in the days of the Roman Empire, both the mail-carriers AND every village idiot were obligated so support the most delusional candidate in any race for the senate. I'm just carrying on that tradition..." '

    Oh, wait, he's not a mail-carrier anymore.

Oaky, he is an actor. Has he lived in CT for any period of time. Did he stated his reasons as to why he wanted McMahon as sentor rather than Blumenthal more than her being a "business woman?" That is not enough becuase she would be only 1 of 100 in the Senate. It is unlikely that she could get her wrestling employees to convince her fellow senators to vote one way or another. This is not to mention that she would have to get the majority of 435 members of the House to go along with that as well.

Fitting. Cliff Clavin is a ficticious character, just like McMahon is a fictitious business woman whos is qaulified to sit in the US Senate..

  8. 8 Days until Socialism dies in the United States!!

Come on Connecticut! Are you honestly going to replace one CORRUPT DEMOCRAT with ANOTHER CORRUPT DEMOCRAT?!! Do you honestly want to give Obozo another rubberstamper so he can continue his "transformation of America"??!! He already got enough rubberstampers transforming us into a bankrupt welfare state.

I remember a while back the only celebs that they could get to a tea party rally was John Ratzenburger (Clavin), and Jon Voight, yes, Jon Voight............the celeb list speaks for itself, his endorsement is about as much as one of the Kardasians....even worse than that.

So, they're showiz friends. That doesn't maker her qualified to do anything but spend the money she's been spending on the campaign. Vote Blumenthal.

John is one of the few republicans to have a room in the house named after him. He and Kelsey were cast correctly and both were out to lunch in the series.

LOL. Perfect. The Cliff Clavin character is pretty much dead on for what one would imagine a MA Teatard to be like: an oblivious, arrogant, blowhard, tinfoil-hat-wearing, know-it-all, misinformed, undereducated fruitcake who talks a really big game but hasn't the first godd-mn clue regarding what he's bloviating about. Actually, that pretty much seems to go for all of them...not just the ones in MA.

He should have stayed behind his bar. Linda is a disaster that is never going to happen. She can go back to her perverse
    freak circus and play "CEO"!

this is life imitating art – "Cliff" was an ignoramus on the show that pretended to have an intellect.

This is exactly the kind of person that supports Today`s " NO IDEAS" Republican party.

McMahon got rich selling the imagery of muscle-bound jerks kicking sand in the face of the skinny guy and of big chested silicon Barbie dolls flocking to the jerks.

She sold this destuctive imagery to young pubescent boys to embrace and further contributed to self confidence attacks on young girls.

OK, she got tich from it. I can`t take that away from her but I DON`T have to reward trailer park trash like her with a pristine and prominent position as a distingiushed Senator in the US Congress.

If there is a point to be made regarding this and other CNN articles today, I'm sure I'm missing it. Unless, perhaps, the GOPers/TeaPers predicted Tsuanmi is being downgraded to a ripple, thus catching CNN off guard. With that in mind, yes, I suppose Cliff Claving voting for Linda McMahon is as *make believe* as any other GOPer story today.
