Obama votes absentee

Washington (CNN) – President Obama filled out his absentee ballot for the midterm election in Illinois from the White House West Wing, according to White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs.

Gibbs said he voted for Democratic candidate Alexi Giannoulias, who is in a tough race against Republican Mark Kirk for the president's former Senate seat. He said the president also voted for Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn who is up for re-election.

"I know who he voted for for Governor and Senate in Illinois – the two Democratic candidates who I believe will win," Gibbs said.

Obama made two trips to Chicago this year to raise money for Giannoulias, and first lady Michelle Obama recently campaigned for him. On Saturday, the president will headline a rally in Chicago as part of a multi-state push for Democrats leading up to the Nov. 2 election.

The first lady took advantage of her home state's early voting and cast her vote when she stopped in Chicago during a Midwestern campaign swing two weeks ago.

He governs absentee as well. He is completely detached from real people. Also inappropriate to say who he voted for, even if it was predictable.

You got it T'SAH; I'm from Va. also but I sure don't get why you think Obama is so great. Live in the coalfields and see how great Obama is to us. Must be nice in your dream world; sure wished I lived there.

Looks like Obama wasted his vote. Illinois is tired of the corrupt thugs so they're going Republican!

You haters are really something. To Tsunami Warning: Do you know what socialism is? Remember it was Joe The Non Plumber that started the phrase during the 2008 Presidential Campaign that all of you keep repeating. Is Joe the nonplumber your leader? You are turning everything connected to politics into a blood sport. Please get a life and stay off the blogs when you should be working. You are cheating and stealing from your employer.

T'SAH...I love seeing your comments here. Keep up the good work. To everyone voting for the RepubiCONs just remember they beat up a young lady just for holding a sign at one of their rallies, do you really want animals running your country? that could have been your daughter, mother, sister, wife, girlfriend. The only way to stop the madness is to keep them out of office. TEA PART = American Taliban

  9. Randolph Carter, I'm no expert, but....

Are you all really naive enough to believe that it makes any difference which half of the money party is in control? Congress may well change hands this Nov. but the rich will keep getting richer and the middle class will keep shrinking. Do you really think that the tea party or libertarians would be any different? Ha. Americans are pear-shaped and gullible. Now bend over for your corporate masters, consumerbots. And don't forget to blame all of our problems on those lazy poor people and those gay Mexican Muslims. Have a nice day!

So much complaining and finger pointing. What are the Republicans going to do? Waste more time and money trying to undo what Obama has done. Tea Baggers will be at the mercy of the established DC politics because they have too many candidates who would be great PTA members but will cringe when they see real DC politics. No solid facts from the repubs on what they are going to do to create jobs, boost commerce. Still think Obama has got some life left in him. It's just been two years. Only the Cowboys quit at halftime.

How nice the president gets to vote while denying the military men and woman fighting overseas the same right and the Justice Department giving a pass to the States that are Violating the law on Absentee voting for the Military. We know why because Obama know the military men and woman hate him and will vote for the GOP 3 to one over the DEMOS. This president is a despicable human being that if the news people were not sleeping with him they would be demanding he be impeached over this outrage. You can always count on the Liberal press to be Fascist like the NPR.

I don't know why our "men and women fighting overseas" should be allowed to vote, William. They haven't been able to win a war in 65 years. Sounds kinda incompetent to me. Have a nice day!
