Two Miller security team members investigated in Alaska

Washington (CNN) – Commanders at Fort Richardson, Alaska are investigating two soldiers who were involved in a highly publicized altercation with a reporter at an event for Republican Senate candidate Joe Miller, a base spokesman said.

The soldiers were working as part of Joe Miller's security team when they handcuffed a reporter from the Alaska Dispatch who was trying to ask the candidate questions.

The two security members, it turns out, are active duty soldiers based at Fort Richardson, according to Sgt. Maj. Derrick Crawford.

A spokesman at the base confirms that the two soldiers were working for a company that was hired by the Republican candidate for security purposes.

It is not against Army rules for the soldiers to take outside work, but the spokesman said they must have written permission from their commander and their work must not jeopardize their unit's readiness, good order or discipline.

It is unclear, as of Tuesday, whether both soldiers had the written permission from their current unit commander.

The Army is also investigating whether the soldiers violated rules forbidding involvement in political campaigns. Fort Richardson investigators are trying to determine if the fact that the soldiers worked for a third party who was hired by Miller's campaign shielded them from a violation of those rules.

Miller is a nut case and hires more of his own kind, just like Sarah endorses others who are nut cases like herself!

Welcome to tea bagger America – the ugly America.

Funny, these folks claim to be constitutionalists. Perhaps instead of just carrying it, they should actually read it. On second thought, it's not funny, it's pathetic.

What is America coming to when men stand by and let a women be stomped by other men? This kind of behavior is far too
indicative of what may happen in the country if a teabag is allowed to rein. They may not have been able to stop it in
1930's Germany, but surely it should be nipped in the bud here.

This is how the facist T party takes this country apart. It appeals to the three pillars of republican ideology; bigotry, greed and ignorance.

Tea Partiers love love love the Constitution, but only the parts that let them do whatever they want, and only if those parts apply only to them.

These dummies should be court-martial. They violated UMCJ October 26, 2010 04:58 pm at 4:58 pm | >>>> How did they diolate the UCMJ? They weren't in uniform nor were they saying anything about being in the military. So are you saying that if you wear a military uniform you have lost your right to work, off duty and out of unifrom, for who you please. So the New Black Panthers can wear a military uniform, therefore giving the impression they are in the military, and carry clubs outside a poleing place and you are just fine with that. Darn, forgot they were for the democrats. Sorry, I questioned you on your reasoning.

How dare reporters ask questions??!!!! Their job is to repeat the propaganda of their corporate masters, not to think or question. Anyone who questions the oligarchy is a gay Mexican Muslim on welfare who loves terrorists and wants to kill babies. Have a nice day!

Just what we need – more strong arming. This clown and his whole tea party need to relocate to some deserted island. Then they can rule however they want. PLEASE PEOPLE – see them for what they truly are. DO NOT let you frustration with what this Country is going through cloud your judgment and do not let them near Washington D.C. We've got enough problems already.
Any candidate who says they are not going to answer any question put in front of them should not be allowed on a ballott.
