2012 Watch: Giuliani for president – again?

(CNN) – His unorthodox presidential campaign strategy fell flat in 2008, but former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani says he hasn’t ruled out a second try in 2012.

"The door's not closed,” Giuliani told Politico on Monday night when asked point-blank if he still has his eyes set on the White House.

Hailed as “America’s Mayor” in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, Giuliani’s campaign became a study in how not to run for president: Deciding to forgo seriously competing in the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina - and instead focusing largely on Florida’s primary a month later - Giuliani was ultimately viewed as an also-ran by the time Sunshine voters weighed in.

While still a national figure by all accounts, Giuliani’s presence in political circles across the country over the last two years has been significantly less than that of other Republicans considering a White House bid and it’s unclear if the former mayor still has a significant base of support from which to spring another presidential campaign.

Classic ego-feeding by an incredibly UNELECTABLE "candidate." Rudy is unappealingly mean-spirited and boring, and he has no real ideas, just like so many of his flock. And NO ONE has gained more personal profit by exploiting one of our nation's most terrible tragedies. If you point out a beautiful cloud in the fall sky to him, Rudy would say, "It reminds me of a cloud I saw on 9-11." He's a windup doll when it comes to 9-11, albeit a very rich one.

Is this man just plain stupid; or he really don't know when he is not wanted?
I ask this because he looks stupid.

The GOP must be desperate if they are chalking up this guy again. He is a loser, always been a loser in politics and his personal life. He just so happened to be mayor of NY City during 9/11. People, let sleeping dogs lie!

Guliani may be the worst person to run for president, possibly even worse than Palin. While he may have done some good for NYC, it was WAY overshadowed for the way he screwed over the Police, Fire depts., public schools, people's civil rights, and his combative nature towards everyone.

Take for instance just one of the many barbs Guliani threw at New Jersey. "If my relatives had known Elis Island was in New jersey they would never have come to America." Do we want someone who would say something that ridiculously stupid towards another state, to possibly say something that stupid towards another country?

If you look in the dictionary for the definition of "Hubris", you'll find a photo of Rudy Guiliani. The man has never seen a situation that couldn't be improved if only he were in charge. Arrogant, thin-skinned and rude only begin to explain this man. I suspect that, if he were to run again in 2012, he would have changed his middle name to "9/11". The man is a shameless huckster and opportunist.

Yeah, Right. It will never happen. Thank The Lord. I live in NYC and I worked and still work one block for the fallin World Trade Center and I can tell you the this man (I use the term loosely) was garbage on that day. Giuliani is not Presidental material, all he is good for now is attacking us liberal. We accept his offer to debate this lying criminal any time an any place. Joe Biden said it best about Giulian, All this man has is a Noun, 9/11, and a verb. This idiot only got one delegate during his so called run for the Presidency and he won't even get that on the next go around. So Please if this is what the reThugliCan't GOBPers Purtid Tea Bagges go to show us, well Ithen keep on keeping on. Try something new. Try to be for real and come up with a real choice and we liberal will still clean your clocks.

Please God, make it stop. This guy's hour's worth of fame came in 2001. Since then he has done nothing but shoot his mouth off and be an embarrassment to himself and everyone associated with him. Can't someone put a muzzle on him?

I don't understand why some people don't opt to age gracefully instead they invite stress unnecessary. This man is a joke. His last presidential bid ended in Florida, this time if he tries, it won't take him even half way.

I guess this is the definition of insanity, when you keep doing the same thing over and over again and expect a different result! Rudy, Why don't you just keep stealing money from where ever you've been stealing it from and leave us along.

Oh, give it up, 9ui11iani! Just gracefully accept the fact that America's just not all that into you. It's getting embarrassing watching this already. It's like some really bad date who won't go home.

Just go quietly into the night Rudy. You aren't relevant anymore.
You are a Political Dinosaur, you just don't know it yet.

Guiliani is a Legend in his own Mind. I don't believe that anyone who professes to be a Values Voter would vote for a serial adulterer. The same can be said for Newt Gingrich. While both of these guys are smarter than Palin, Angle, and O'Donnell, being the smartest kid in the dumb class isn't a prime qualigication for President.

in 2012, 9/11 will be 11 years in the past. Rudy, nobody was clamoring for you to remain mayor here in NYC on 9/10/01. Get over yourself. if it hadn't been for 9/11, you'd just be another former New York mayor. And what did you do exactly on 9/11? Like the rest of us, you didn't run for the hills. Kudos. Yet you couldn't even really coordinate the response because you'd put your emergency bunker in WTC 7. Who puts an emergency bunker in the target zone? Your other claim to fame is crime reduction, but that was due to Bratton's strategy of targeting low level crimes. You fired Bratton when he was getting more popular than you and a successor, Kerik, is currently serving time for corruption. What makes you think you're wanted or needed?

We here in NY will never forget how Rooty Tooty was such a hateful nasty mayor. A noun, a verb, and 9-11. Another run? I say...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Giuliani unlike our current president is a workaholic and a "get things done" kind of a guy.
He did great things for NYC, made people work, got tough when needed, had principles (threw out the murderer Arafat out, who came uninvited to some gala). Talking of "change" and bringing none (or making it worse) is what our current President is all about.

As with Cheney, Giuliani is unelectable. However, Cheney was still able to serve as co-President though. 8 years in fact. Giuliani needs to moray eel himself to a recognizable GOP figure in the same fashion…Not Palin though. She is unelectable too; despite what the ‘Christian Nazi Pure Whites Only’ bus tour proclaims.

Mr. G would probably be more qualified than most Presidents we have had but I don't think he has the push from the people.
