New prediction in battle for the House

Washington (CNN) - With six days to go until the midterm elections, one of the top non-partisan political handicappers is upping the prediction of how many seats the Republicans will win back in the House of Representatives.

The Cook Political Report Wednesday forecast a net gain of 48 to 60 seats for the Republicans, with higher gains possible. The GOP needs a net gain of 39 seats to win back control of the chamber from the Democrats, who have held the House and the Senate for the last four years.

"The midterm maelstrom pulling House Democrats under shows no signs of abating, if anything it has intensified. Whereas fewer than a third of Democratic Senate seats are up for election, House Democrats are suffering the full violence of this national undertow," says the Cook Political Report.

Another top non-partisan political handicapper, the Rothenberg Political Report, forecasts Republican gains of 45 to 55 seats, with an excess of 60 seats quite possible.

The largest midterm House loss for the president's party over the past half century came in 1994, when the GOP won back 52 seats to retake the House, and the Senate as well.

Twelve years later the Democrats won back control of the chamber with a net gain of 30 seats, as well as taking back the Senate.

The economy is boosted by small business more than ANY OTHER FACTOR, even FALSE WAR FOR OIL, small business creates between 60-80% of all new net jobs in this country...Obama's plan to boost small business with tax breaks is the only hope for creating JOBS and helping the nation out of this Republican-sponsored DITCH and PLUTOCRACY. BIG BUSINESS WILL CONTINUE TO DRIVE THIS TRAIN WRECK INTO GREEN MOUNTAIN. Vote the lesser evil, vote Democrats 2010, 2012 and FOREVER until these corporate lapdogs are silenced and stopped.

Not from what I hear. The Democrats are more fired up than the Republicans because we know what's at stake if a
teabag is let into the capitol. We just sit back and let the Republican/tea crazies show their true colors in front of the world, because we know that all we have to do is vote. No need to show ourselves as fools or stomp people on national television. Just vote. The republicans are the ones who are afraid. That's why they keep bluffing numbers. Each time a teabag says or does something stupid on television, that' just more fuel for the Democratic turnout. No need to shout,
because the only vote that counts is at the voting booth. That's where the true wave will hit.

Yes!!!! Yes, let the jack boot right take over the house! Let them complete the ruination of this country. The overwhelming number of voters too stupid to remember 10 years back, or that ACORN did nothing wrong and was the target of s little psycho right wing thug is amazing. I'll laugh my ass off when you no longer have any savings, your children are working in coal mines, your health insurance is unaffordable and you lose you home due to criminal banking practices. HEY RUBE!!!! VOTE REPUBLICAN

I was finally polled by phone yesterday. I had a choice of pressing (1) for Democrat or (2) for Republlican. I now need a
new number (1) button. I think I wore it out.
