(CNN) – Jon Stewart has called his upcoming 'Rally to Restore Sanity' a "call-to-reasonableness," but the Democratic National Committee is hoping it's a call to Democrats as well.
When 'Daily Show' fans descend on our nation's capitol on Saturday, the DNC will hold a get-out-the-vote phone bank at its national headquarters, and they're inviting rally attendees to stop by to man the phones.
"We need folks to turn the energy from that rally into action by contacting key voters across the country and making sure they have a plan to vote by November 2nd," the DNC said in an invitation that went out to Organizing for America (OFA) supporters in the Washington area. OFA is the President Obama's campaign arm that is now housed within the DNC.
With just a few days left before Election Day, the DNC hopes the rally - which is expected to draw tens of thousands of (mostly young) Americans to Washington - helps energize voters in a tough national climate for Democrats.
OFA staff will also be at Union Station to help those coming in on buses for the rally sign up to volunteer for get-out-the-vote efforts in their home states, said OFA Press Secretary Lynda Tran.
How do you say anything negative about a rally to "restore sanity"? Seriously people.
When did abandoning intelligence and rewarding ignorance and divisiveness become the norm?
When did it become en vogue to be this disrespectful to a President that is actually trying to help the country for once?
Whether Democrat or Republican, where did decency, common sense, and simple courtesy go?
The Right wing is finding success at winning over the simple minds with their tactics.
And you folks believe the sky is red and the sun is cold.
