Miller to get another dose of Tea Party assistance

(CNN) – The national Tea Party group that helped Joe Miller win the Republican Senate primary in Alaska now says they're going up with two new commercials in support of the GOP nominee.

Tea Party Express tells CNN Thursday that one of the two ads touts Miller's biography while the other criticizes Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who was defeated by Miller in the August primary and who is now running as a write-in candidate in next week's general election.

The Tea Party Express, which is based in Sacramento, California, endorsed Miller early this summer and spent nearly $600,000 during the primary campaign to help Miller, once a long-shot, defeat Murkowski.

Tea Party Express says that their initial ad buy in Alaska will be $30,000, but they expect to spend six figures by Election Day. They say their ad buy will be smaller than the money they spent during the primary because Miller is now receiving assistance from the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Miller's been stung by controversies over the past three weeks and a CNN/Time/Opinion Research Corporation poll released last week indicated that Miller and Murkowski, who is part of a political dynasty in Alaska, were deadlocked at 37 percent each among likely voters, with 23 percent saying they'd vote for Sitka Mayor Scott McAdams, the Democrats' nominee.

The ads come as former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, whose endorsement this summer helped Miller in the primary, teams up with the GOP nominee Thursday at a rally in Anchorage.

This is why my family and friends left the republican party. They let the tea party take over. We expected republicans to work with democrats to help the country and they did not. That is why we early voted for democrats.

If Miller is hiding now, if he wins, wait till he gets to Washington, the Republicans will bury him so deep he won't need to hide.

Hey conservatives, may I ask you a few serious questions?

How come you can't seem to spell or punctuate?

Why is the use of the English language so consistently bad amongst conservatives on any forum?

Why can't you discuss political issues without falling into childish tactics and cliches like "sheeple" and "libtards" and "socialism" and other sundry gibberish?

Why do you all speak exactly the same, as if you turn on Rush or Beck, get your opinions and your daily list of abusive names for those that don't agree with you, then spend the rest of the day blathering those same venomous opinions over and over again? Why do you think you are thinking for yourselves when all you do is repeat the daily propaganda?

And for all too many Americans, why do you let yourself get sucked into the venom and hate and fear and paranoia pushed by these people? Don't you have more character and wisdom than to just conform to the prevaling hot winds of manipulative hatred?

Scott McAdams could be the queen maker in this Alaskan election. If he has no chance of victory, he could simply withdraw from the election and ask Democrats to vote for Murkowski. She is certainly not a Democrat, but that action would keep Miller and his extreme positions out of the Senate. It also wouldn't hurt Alaskan Democrats to have Murkowski on McAdams' speed dial.

But isn't this the same guy that was found guilty of lying, covering up evidence and the illegal use of government property? You Alaskan's deserve someone like Miller and throw in palin. What planet or country do you think you live in? Maybe it is looking to the west and seeing Russia from your houses? You give America a bad name and taste in my mouth!

  17. Former Republican, now an Independent

This typical of the current day GOP. They were in Lisa Murkowski's corner until she lost her primary to Sarah Palin backed Joe Miller. Now the GOP has no use for her and speak bad about her at every opportunity. It just proves that winning is higher on their agenda than what is best for the American people. They will run with "any dog that will hunt" even if it is a rabid dog.

Once a liar, well, you know the rest. Washington would chew this clown up and spit him out. They eat his kind for breakfast. . . If Alaskians have any hope of any type of representation in Washington then they had better vote Democratic or learn how to spell Murkowski (did I spell that right?).

I recall seeing Tea Party rallies where they called President Obama a liar......Hitler...the anti-Christ...even Joe Wilson called him a liar from the floor of Congress......YET if their own candidate admits to lying....double standard when it comes to SS, unemployment insurance and Medicare and they have NO problem with that. Look out America this might be your next congress.
