Poll shows surge for O'Donnell in Delaware

(CNN) - A surprising new Senate poll in Delaware shows Republican Christine O'Donnell may be in striking distance of Democrat Chris Coons.

According to the new survey from Monmouth University, the surprise Republican nominee is only 10 points behind Coons, drawing 41 percent of the vote. In a previous Monmouth poll conducted two weeks ago, O'Donnell trailed by 19 points.

But the latest Monmouth survey differs substantially from two other recent polls, including a Farleigh Dickinson survey released Thursday that showed a 21-point advantage for Coons and a CNN/Time poll released earlier this month that indicated a 19-point lead for Coons.

The latest Monmouth poll surveyed 1,171 voters between October 25-27 and carries a sampling error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

Complete BS! We'll see on Tuesday whether or not the whole country is really stupid enough to elect republican psychos like O'Donnell. If they are that incredibly stupid.....Welcome to the United States of Stepford!

I hope she pulls this one off. I better give myself a hand on Monday because we all know that is her platform that she is going to make it illegal. At least that is what we are being told by the wacked Left. Finally, hope and change is on the horizon.

This type of person appeals to the lowest common denominator, and depends on those who are ill-informed and emotional. That tactic works here in America!

So these "outsiders" have huge funding from Carl Rove and you expect them to be good? They are taking our country back, to the Bush Cheney days. They have a complete block about the fact the policies they support caused the fiscal crisis. You can’t deregulate the banks, it didn’t work, people without rules turned into crooks. If they have big gains, prepare your wallet for 5 dollar gas.

People feel like this Congress, this Preaident and the hardcore left look down on them, which they do. This is a response against the "you need me" current political environment. That, and a political machine that leverages off division and intolerance. Most Americans respect their fellow Americans.

But according to WDEL radio's Website, Patrick Murray, who heads Monmouth University's Polling Institute, "says it's interesting that of those who responded to the poll, only about one in three say O'Donnell is qualified for the job." What's up, Delaware?

A thought crossed my mind – all these Tea Party people and the GOP who rail against government so much, seem to be spending so much money and time to get INTO that very same government....................funny.................

If people are really considering Ms. Odonell, then God help us. I understand people are angry, but this is going too far. She hasn't even had a regular job, has been running for a GOVERNMENT job for years (yes the same government she rails against). Sound likes she wants to be part of the "establishment' to me...................

That she beat Castle in the first place is shameful enough – but let's not forget that CNN is owned by Murdoch. I love the Rasmussen poll which positively CROWS about no Republican seat going Dem, has a graphic about which party holds the seat and where it's probably going – has a blue seat going solidly Dem in DE – which ignores the fact that the current Senator is Castle, and he's a Republican. So, you know, don't let the facts get in the way.

The good people of Delaware are much smarter than this rogue poll implies. No way they elect such an utter incompetent to represent them in the United States Senate!!

Yeah, O'Donnell is an idiot. She isn't going to win and my guess is, the poll is a bunch of manufactured BS. The media loves a close race because it gives them something to talk about. I can't believe what the republican party has become. People like O'Donnell are clearly not qualified to hold office at any level of goverment, yet the right wing meida, talk radio, etc. makes excuses for them and actually try to legitimize their candidacy. It's very sad that the party of Barry Goldwater, et. al. has been reduced to this.

A candidate that has never really had a job, lives off campaign money (when the elections are over), looks like a complete fool in the last debate, and she is not 50 points down? Delaware you all really need to wake the hell up. If she wins that State will be a complete laughing stock.

Please people. There is no way this poll is accurate. This poll was of 1,100 "voters" – you have no idea if they are registered voters, likely voters, which parties the "voters" belong to....this data is highly suspect. So calm down. Pollsters always throw a weird one in there that doesn't make sense.
