(CNN) - Democrat Richard Blumenthal has won the Connecticut Senate seat left open by retiring Democratic Sen. Chris Dodd, CNN projects, beating out Republican nominee Linda McMahon, a wealthy former professional wrestling executive. Projections are based on CNN analysis of exit poll data.

Some voters realize that their livelihoods is not a game. Voting for candidates just to spite the other will affect them also.
Connecticut voters know this and voted accordingly.
Connecticut must really stink to re elect such a liar. Thats one state I will avoid.
I still can't believe Connecticut. Why in the world did they vote for someone who disrespects the rule of law? He didn't protect the law before. And now you want him to write the law? I would say you get what you deserve, but this affects all of us now that he's in a federal position. Too bad...
This is one race where I didn't even care about "beating the democrats". I just think Blumenthal is scum. He has yet to answer the question: "What law did AIG break?" Yet he still used his position to attack them. Why do you want him writing laws? It makes no sense. And it certainly doesn't benefit anyone's livelihood, Elizabeth.
