Washington (CNN) - The man tasked with maintaining Democratic control of the House told reporters that it is "a mistake" to announce a Republican takeover of that chamber.
"I think that's a mistake," Rep. Chris Van Hollen said in response to learning that some news outlets had begun declaring a GOP victory in the House.
A somewhat tongue-tied Van Hollen defended his position by highlighting a Democratic victory for the open seat in Delaware and a race in Indiana's second district, where incumbent Rep. Joe Donnelly is maintaining a slim lead.
Van Hollen, the chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, acknowledged the "challenging" atmosphere for his candidates, but maintained an air of optimism for races in the Mountain West and Pacific Coast, where polls are still open.

"Denial thy name is Van Hollen"
Maybe it would be a good idea for the GOP to take control of the House. Then we can sit back and see all the wonderful things they promise actually happen. They talk a good talk but don't have a clue how to walk the walk.
No winner until last counts.
Thanks you, less then critical thinking media worshipers. There is only one station in Nebraska in the little towns and it is all corporate sound blasting by Rush, Beck and Savage. Repittion works on these midwesterners. The 'expiriment' of constantly saying the same 'Obama is the problem and the cause' message has totlally worked on these hard working simple folks. Oh and they are very religious as well. I am waiting the intervention of 'The Lord' apparently in vain.
The GOP got us in this mess...the dems are just stuck holding the ball.
FAT Limbaugh is NOT singing yet – let's wait until it is OVER!!
My prayer is that whoever has been elected to office (any office) by this time tomorrow, they will all learn to work together. We are all the same blood...all Americans. God Bless America!

Hmm. Sounds kind of familiar, maybe from two years or so ago...just with a different person's name. I'm sure the irony is completely lost on the sore losers.
Amazing how people are disturbed about the drumbeat against Obama. Kind of reminds me of the drumbeat against Bush a few years ago. I guess they only like freedom of the press when it supports their candidates or views...
No mistake by van the mistake was made by the people and those out of touch evil doer,s are going to show all the people what they are made of!!guess 8 years of lies was not enough so GOD BLESS this country!!!
