Boehner gets choked up

(CNN)
– He wept tonight, but chances are House Minority Leader John Boehner will be smiling in January, when he picks up the gavel as Speaker of the newly-Republican House of Representatives.

During his victory speech, talking about his upbringing, he choked up. His voice breaking and tears filling his eyes he said, "I hold these values dear because I've lived them." He added, "I've spent my whole life chasing the American dream."

The veteran lawmaker, who is nobody's picture of a Tea Party outsider, said Americans want a new way forward in Washington. "Our new majority," he said, "will be prepared to do things differently to take a new approach that hasn't been tried before in Washington – by either party."

Boehner said it was time to get to work.

"Our new majority," he said, "will be prepared to do things differently to take a new approach that hasn't been tried before in Washington – by either party."

From everything he and fellow GOPers have said, this "new approach" will be to not cooperate with the President or Democrats on anything; shut the government down; slash funding to all social programs and increase defense spending; cut taxes for the wealthy; roll back personal freedoms; accuse anyone who disagrees with them a traitor; and blame all the harm and suffering they cause on the Democrats.

In a word, their "new approach" will be to try to once and for all eliminate the Middle Class. It has, afterall, been their goal for about 40 years.

Do those values include leaving work early to go lay in a tanning bed?

Because that's the word around the Hill ...

um.. WHY NOW? Why is it that their Republican President drove this country to the ground and they stood by for years. It wasnt until the Dems took over that these guys began screaming the sky was falling, began saying NO to everything, and said the country needed CHANGE.(for 2 years) Well, some states in America (but not all...Im looking at you CA and NY) are as dumb as we thought they were. So here you go America, The Republicans may have won the house, too bad it needs to be foreclosed.. Cry on Boner, now that youre up to bat and we doubt you have a single solution capable of being passed, we'll also see you cry when Obama says his oath for a second time in 2012 thanks to youre inability to govern.

Phoney tears from a man who has no earthly idea how regular Americans live and are suffering from the Rushpublican's failed ideas and continual obstruction of the President.

Well cry me a river, Mr Boehner. You better cry now because there'll be no time to cry when you have to put your money where your mouth is. Now we'll see what you're really made of.

This new speaker doesn't even have answers for the problems with social security. He's gonna be trouble as the new speaker with little to no respect for our constitution nor oval office.

I'm no Boehner fan, but that part of the speech was heartfelt and sincere, and something I can relate to. However, the part where he talked about Republicans representing the will of the voters was laughable. This is pretty much the exact same GOP that they were two years ago, four years ago, and for the four years before that. For the most part, the voters did not vote the GOP in tonight, they voted the Democrats out. I would suggest the next Speaker remembers that and tries to avoid the arrogance he displayed tonight and that plagued many of the recent leaders of his party.

Boehner was choking on the lies coming out of his throat. He's already the most corrupt Speaker in the history of the U.S. House of Representatives. He'a a complete disgrace and he and his party will lead the country to total destruction.
