O'Donnell says 'Republican cannibalism' one reason for loss

(CNN) – Republican Christine O'Donnell sounded a defiant tone the day after losing her Delaware Senate bid to Democrat Chris Coons, calling her loss a "symptom of Republican cannibalism."

"In other areas, where the establishment Republican didn't win their primary, the local Republican parties united right away. Solidarity goes a long way. Unfortunately, that never happened in Delaware," O'Donnell said during an interview on CNN's American Morning.

O'Donnell has frequently lamented her party's initial reluctance to back her candidacy since she beat longtime Rep. Mike Castle in the Republican primary in September.

"Sen. Cornyn says there was nothing we can do, we didn't have enough money. But if he and Karl Rove had said, look, she is articulate on the issues as many people after watching our debates were able to say…there was verbal support they could have offered as pundits, so to speak, that they chose not to for whatever reason," O'Donnell said.

"I think had Karl Rove immediately come out to support us, had the NRSC even helped us verbally, we could have closed the gap," O'Donnell said.

O'Donnell's primary win shocked her party's establishment, and the Tea Party-backed newcomer initially confronted skepticism from her party's state leadership, as well as many prominent national Republican figures who thought her primary opponent had the best chance of beating a Democrat in the race for Delaware's Senate seat previously held by Vice President Joe Biden.

No younger twin of the evil one, you lost the election because you and the other teabaggers talk about the Constitution without understanding it or knowing what is in it.
I hope you can find a job so that you don't have to steal money from the people who voted for you.
I still can't believe that 40% of the people in DE thought this woman was capable of running their state and/or the country.

What next, since she unemployed she will have lots of time to brainstorm another scam to fleece the good people of Delaware to support the lifestyle she's grown accustomed too, someone has to pay for that mortgage and gas. I doubt mama grizzly will welcome Christine on Fox. Mama Grizzlies do not share the spotlight.

Know why she's so angry and scared? Because this was her last shot avoidin being a member of the middle-class and thereby getting shafted by her own party's policies.

The real question is which is worse - the blind, or those being led by the blind - it's truly amazing how 40% of the people could vote for this idiot. You can respect someone who you disagree with if they show some intelligence or logic behind what they say, but O'Donnell just spewed out the same tired talking points like Gidget Sarah with no understanding of law or the Constitution. Besides, how could you vote for someone who belatedly got their university degree just THIS YEAR?!?

Feel sorry for her. Now she is unemployed. Can she get benefits? I hope some one will offer her a job. May be Fox news. Did she learn anything from this defeat?

Poor Christine. Just like poor Sarah, that mean ole lame-stream media prevented her from winning.
Darn, Christine could've quit after a year and a half and just starting raking in the moolah!

O'Donnell lost because she got a lot of media exposure that showed her to be a fringe candidate. My neighbors to the south weren't buying any of it.

Anyone notice that all the 'mama grizzlies' lost. Whitman, Fiorina, McMahon, O'Donnell. If I were a conservative trying to win an election, I would steer clear of Sarah Palin at this point.

"But if he and Karl Rove had said, look, she is articulate on the issues..." But why would Karl Rove say that? He's evil if you ask me, but he's not stupid. He or anyone else could see that she had no idea what she was doing. Perhaps she should run for town council or county comissioner or something before jumping to US Senator. But then again, those jobs take work, have low pay and are basically thankless. The pretty girl just wanted the brass ring without putting in any real work. Still, I would love to see her in a Playboy spread. She could bring home the bacon that way.

Hmmmm.....maybe your party didn't rally around you because you were a horrible candidate with the intellect level of a middle schooler...similar maturity....mugging for the cameras when you thought you had Coons dead to rights because you were so sure that separation of church and state is nowhere in the first amendment? Maybe they just couldn't look at themselves in the mirror if they rallied around you? Could that be it Christine? Naaaahhh-must be the mainstream media right? Let's see....what other excuses can you come up with for losing the Seante race three times in five years-get the message Christine-go work for FOX News.....

The O'Donnell and Angle losses were the result of the Tea Party movements disorganization. The movement is still morphing itself into a unified party, something that both the establishment Republicans and Democrats are petrified of. Once the Party finds itself and unifies under one organizational head, they may then properly pick their candidates, both of the aforementioned had the right fundamentals they just lacked on their abilities to present themselves in today's "Idol" persona. What I am seeing in all of this is that the typical progressive liberal is 1. government employee, 2. does not understand business, 3. Cannot comprehend a reduction to government, 4. Cannot fathom that if you cannot afford something you don't buy it.
America has spoken and it was all about the Obama agenda...you will hear her roar in 2012!

This woman is delusional if she thinks the RNC's backing would have gotten her elected. She's a whack-job. Dems, Repubs and Indies ALL see that - it's one of the few things we all can agree on. The only person who can't see what a nutcase she is is Christine O'Donnell. Psychos rarely possess the gift of self-reflection...

Wow, a republican actually admitting that her troubles didn't come from democratic attacks, (since those are given anyway) but from her own party visciously attacking her. Bravo!

wow, dodged a bullet with Angle and O'Donnel out of the way. Two wackos from the republican party. I don't know why the Tea Party Republicans seem to produce such ignorant women as candidates. In 2010, we have women candidates whose very image puts the womens movement back 50 years. We do not live in Leave It To Beaver land anymore.

Could have been that she lost because she's an idiot. I'm a Republican, but if I'd had the choice between her and Coons, I'd have picked Coons. She's a moron.
