(CNN) – No matter what happens to Hawaii's Daniel Inouye tonight in his re-election bid, this just kinda blows you away.
Hawaii has been a state for 51 years. Inouye has been Hawaii's senator for all but three of those 51 years.
Before that, he served as the new state's first congressman.
Before that, he fought in World War Two and was awarded the Medal of Honor for his service.
Not much you can add to that.
Senator Inouye, we Japanese Americans salute you and your long standing service both as a Senator, Congressman, and 442nd Captain! You are amazing, and we hope you'll continue to represent us for years to come.
Thank you for your service to our nation and our state.
