Republican Sen. candidate concedes in Washington

(CNN) - Washington Democratic Sen. Patty Murray will serve a fourth term in the Senate after challenger Dino Rossi conceded Thursday, two days after Election Day.

Murray held a 2 point lead with 82 percent of the vote counted Thursday night.

"This evening, I called Sen. Murray to offer my congratulations on her re-election to the U.S. Senate," Rossi said in a statement.

    Exciting for Patty!!!

Even if 'Murky' (Murkowski) is a GOP, let her looming victory be a bitter pill for Half-gov Palin, the quitter.

Thank the LORD for this. CANNOT STAND Dino Rossi.. I am from Washington.

My advice to everyone, settle down. It goes like this... and in 2 yrs when everyone sees the Republicians didn't do what they said, the next election will go the other way.

YES! Clearly the voters have sent the Republicans a message! The Democrats control the Senate which means the voters clearly show they approve of the Democrats mission of fixing the disaster the Republicans left to clean up!

Its a shame so many Congressional districts have been rezoned to help the GOP add seats by forcing all the democratic areas into one big zone and breaking others zones into multiple red zones of rightwing people of low iq

How many times does Dino the Weasel have to run before he realizes that Washington voters are fed up with his sorry behind? Is he just stupid or does he have such a big ego? Three strikes and you are out Mr. Rossi, it's time for you to go away, far away.

The Democratic ground machine steals another election from Dino Rossi – it sure pays to have the unions, illegal aliens, and felons on your side.

Blah... Murray is the worst kind of politician. She does nothing, changes nothing, and is all about big government.

One very important question. Were the military votes back from overseas and were they counted?????? If not, Murray's win is highly suspect.

Interesting finding from NYTimes regarding all the polling before the elections: Rasmussen Polls– some of which were commissioned on behalf of Fox News–wrongly predicted a lot more winning by the Republicans compared to actual election results and the other major pollsters. Just a reminder that we should wait until results are in and cut out some of the endless predicting and projecting that happens as Nov. 2nd draws near. Even when it comes to grand statements about the results of the elections and how things will change in the country and in the government– it's best to actually wait and see what happens. There's all sorts of negotiating and back-scratching that makes Congress unpredictable.

Congratulations Senator Murray and the Democratic Party for a well deserved win. This is affirmation of the confidence the people have of your ability to get the job done and we trust you would carry on with the business of re-building the economy and nation under the able leadership of President Obama!

While I did vote for Rossi Senator Murray isn't as bad as some. My only complaint is her support of the DREAM Act and other pro illegal immigrant legislation.

Not that I doubt she won but I wonder why anyone would concede 2% behind with 18% of the votes still to be counted?
