After election bruising, Obama sets off on extensive Asian trip

Washington (CNN) - Fresh off an electoral bruising for his Democratic Party, President Obama heads to India on Friday to launch a 10-day Asian trip intended to expand export markets and strengthen security cooperation in what he considers a region vital to U.S. interests.

The trip to India, Indonesia, South Korea and Japan encompasses a G-20 summit, an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, major holidays in India and Indonesia, and bilateral talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao and at least five other leaders, as well as four presidential news conferences.

What have Americans come to when how much is spent on a presidencial trip makes news? He is wrong if he does something and wrong if he does seems to be doing nothing. Harley Davidson made a good finanxial move with India and the president is going into harms way in order to open more doors for American economy. I believe my last sentence would have been a better story to run, don't you?

Remember how he told us that if we gave a trillion dollars to the corrupt union executives and left wing nut groups that stole the 2008 election for him, unemployment would not go above 8%. Well the corrupt Democrat liberal congress did gave him the money and he gave it to his supporters and guess what. See the latest unemployment figures and then remember how he told us that Obamacare would not cost us anymore? Once again the Democrat liberal conress did it and now check your health care insurance renewal rates and see what happned.

I think this is a good idea for the President to go to India not only to continue to appove foreign affairs, but this should be a good time for the Presidentget away from the bad press so he can gather his thoughts and revive his mojoe and comeback swing back the republicans and do what I, first time voter, young voters, and dems voter wants him to bring change to America and finally expose the Republicans for what they are.

What a fitting reward for the Obama family, another taxpayer funded vacation. Can't afford one myself, but then I never received a Nobel Peace Prize for doing nothing other than make Chris Matthews leg tingle.

There are a lot of myths out there, including the cost of Obama's trip to Asia. Other myths include cutting taxes leads to higher revenues (this has never worked in the last 30 years- what we got from the last three Republican presidents was 8 trillion dollars increase in the national debt, plus the 2009 budget that Bush handed to Obama which resulted in a 1.4 trillion deficit), Obama raised taxes (he has kept the Bush tax cuts for the last 2 years and gave 95% of Americans a tax cut in the stimulus bill), and Obama's spending programs caused the massive deficit (the health care bill costs a total of 940 billion over 10 years, spending on the bill will not really start until 2014, and because Democrats will raise revenues to pay the bill, the CBO projects health care reform together with the revenue-raising measures will actually reduce the deficit). Boehner acknowledge as much when he said that restoring spending to 2008 level will result in a saving of 100 billion dollars next year. The deficit right now is 1.3 trillion. In other words, without contribution from Obama's spending programs the deficit will be at least 1.2 trillion next year. But people believe in these myths, and when they go out to vote believing in these myths then you have what happened on November 2.

President Obama is not "bruised. He's just smarter than the average grizzly. He knew that if the Republicans gained the house they will now have to "man-up" to the American people. Of course we saw how that worked in the last eight years. The president will now just wait for another landslide to put the Republicans out again in 2012, just like 2008. So yes, the president gets it. He's not bruised, he's smart. So the question should be do the Republicans get it? And if not, will the
    American voters get it?
I'm just glad that CNN reported that the Asian trip costing 200 million dollars was a lie. You know how gullible some
voters are. Enjoy your tea Republican voters.
