From 'Fire Pelosi' to 'Hire Pelosi'

(CNN) - The midterm elections may be over, but the political rhetoric is still alive and well.

A sign went up on the door of the Republican National Committee in Washington, D.C., Friday that reads "Hire Pelosi" in large white letters against a red background.

Only a few days ago it was the RNC that used "Fire Pelosi" as a campaign slogan plastered across a traveling bus.

But now that Pelosi is officially running for Minority Leader in the House and the GOP has gained control of the House, Republicans seem to think it's in their best interest for her to remain in control.

"With the elections past, the Republican National Committee has changed a central campaign message," a statement from the RNC said. "No longer will we be pushing a Fire Pelosi message … the RNC has a new message targeted to Congressional Democrats – HIRE PELOSI!"

The Democratic National Committee did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

this is an incredibly smart smove from the rnc. there is nothing more toxic to the dem's than her. with her as minority leader, the dems will keep sinking lower and lower. i have never ever seen a house speaker as horrific as her...absolutely horrific. if palin doomed mccain in the presidential election...she undoubtedly single handedly slit the democratic party's throat.

What do you expect from a political party that's going to spend the next two years trying to impeach President Obama?

One way, I guess, of trying to make sure that the Dems' more socialist tendencies aren't forgotten. Obama, Pelosi, and Reid–the Three Stooges who wasted trillions of bucks on stuff Americans mostly hate–will be great targets to kick around for at least the next couple of years.

Think that is a bad decision by the RNC.

And what makes you think the republicans don't understand the concept of reverse psychology?

Are these idiots in kindergarten? Will they ever grow up? If our tax dollars have to continue to support this GOP BS until their butts get voted back out, there is going to be a huge backlash! They should have all been fired, period.

The Republicans want Rep. Pelosi back because they want to use her to rally their misogynistic base.

Since the GOP has nothing to offer our country accept tried-and-failed policies that result in job loss here in the US, they have come to rely on fear, hatred, division and lies to get elected.

And sadly, as this past Tuesday showed us, there are far too many gullible, scared, ignorant and impatient Americans out there willing to buy the GOP's load of crap.

If you want to begin the slow destruction of your accomplishments over the last two years, you begin by repudiation of leaders credited with the accomplishments. Go ahead, dump Pelosi. After that I may take a serious look at switching from democrat to independent.

This is why no one should vote for them!! They don't care about running the country or helping people. They only care about playing these stupid political games.

What the GOP fails to realize is that, as minority leader, Pelosi will cease to be as polarizing as she is now. Her support among moderate and conservative Democrats will improve as she battles the GOP and, with John Boehner receiving the lion's share of the public attention as majority leader, she'll no longer be the 'boogeywoman' Republicans have painted her to be for the past two years.

Is this the Republicans "Pledge to America" talking about Pelosi after winning the House. Where's the beef Republicans? You can talked about Pelosi before you won the House and now you have the House, it appears to be your only plan, to talk about Pelosi.

Oh those Republicans! Just when you think it would not be possible for them to be any more petty and stupid they continue to outdo themselves. Keep it up RNC. We need the laughs. And you certainly prove the old saying that the biggest problem with political jokes is that too many of them are elected. Just look at the incoming Republican bunch.

This may be an inappropriate column, but maybe the word will get around. Tell Actor Boehner HE IS NOT PRESIDENT. His head is about as big as the government he's talking about right now. He needs to be reminded when he wakes up in the morning and when he goes to bed at night that HE IS NOT THE PRESIDENT.

No doubt CNN will hire Pelosi to run its political shop. You folks orgasmed over her and Obama. From the healthcare rape of America to the jihadists running the White House you remain in full support of these two thugs.

  17. The RNC is just so lame and petty.

The RNC is so afraid of this woman, it's ridiculous. I guess being too good at your job can be pretty scary to people who have no idea how to do theirs. If I saw one effective policy come out of the RNC, I would probably die from shock.

Our National debt of 13 trillion dollars if laid out in one dollar bills edge to edge would cover approximately 52,000 square miles, the land mass of the United States is 3.79 million square miles...

Repulsive republicans, just rename it the party of the sickos! How can anyone find an ounce of good out of all this bad? Get ready for more "NO's" America. Forget that they have set their #1 goal as preventing Obama form winning in 2012 at any price. That being at your expense by voting No to everything for 2 more years!

It shows you that it's ALL position and posturing for the hypocritical repubs. They only are interested in their power and NOT that which is best for our country. Their ideology is destroying our country and now the average joe has been duped into siding with the party of money.

That is ok. In a few months, we Democrats will be saying loudly, "Nominate Palin for President."

Gosh, we could be so lucky.

Great. Just great. Pelosi is the last thing we need now. First, with her "my way or the highway' impression of 'W', she single handedly orchistrated the ruin of the Democratic ownership of the house. Now she wants to stay on as Minority Leader, assuring two more years of gridlock, and the perfect excuse for the Republicans to use to gain control of the Senate and White House.

If republicans want Pelosi so much, why don't they hire her themselves! She has all the pig-headed rude combatitiveness that all republicans have.
