BREAKING: Pelosi running for Dem leader

(CNN) - Outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Friday she will run for minority leader, even as some moderate and conservative Democrats have said she should step aside.

Pelosi made the announcement on Twitter: "Driven by the urgency of creating jobs & protecting #hcr, #wsr, Social Security & Medicare, I am running for Dem Leader."

Nancy Pelosi what makes you think anyone wants to listen to what you have to say since you did not listen to the will of the people?
You have your retirement checks which are conviently adjusted every year for inflation and your healthcare that is given to members of congress which is the best care in the world except for that crap care plan you tried to shove down the American peoples throats.
Go home your time is done.

Personally I'd like to see her do a tasteful Playboy spread. One of the all time great racks in politics

Great News! Dems will be down to 130 seats after the next election. Democrats are like lemmings. if something doesn't work, just keep plodding ahead until you completely fall off the cliff

Californians were stupid enough to re-elect her, just goes to show you can't fix stupid. Let us pray the Dems still in office aren't stupid enough to vote her in as Minority leader, certainly there is a better thinker/leader in the house than the most hated woman in America.
Here is a chance for the Dems to show real leadership and that they GET IT to the American People, we ARE watching and actions speak volumes while words are just lip service.

I am a registered democrat but I considered myself an independant, I am sure she has done a great job, but she was not able to shake off the image the GOP painted her with, which is part of being a leader

Madam Pelosi, you had your time at the limelight during your tenure as the House Speaker. Kindly give others the chance to prove their worth in the Democratic Party leadership and allow the Party's image to regain its strength. Whether we like it or not, you became a catalyst for the recent GOP winning back the House and its time to give way and allow the next two years to re-energize the Party.

Dems should not feel threathen by her anymore. Both parties start doing what is right for all the people not just for yourselves. Our county need people who will do what is right all the time not part time. Come on use common sense.

If she is truly concerned with preserving any portion of the Democratic agenda, then she should step aside. Nancy Pelosi has earned the ire of not only Republicans and Independents, but is viewed as a pariah by those in her own party. Her continued presence at the forefront of the Democrats would be nothing more than an egotistical attempt to substantiate her self-perceived importance.

Pelosi couldn't even get her party to vote with her when she was Speaker, what makes anyone believe she would be more successful after presiding over the worst losses her party has suffered in decades? The House Democrats need a leader who can whip them into a united coalition with some sort of actual influence, not someone who's going to keep them divided and unable to exercise any influence from their new minority position. John Boehner is an orange-skinned freak show but he knows how to get things done in the legislature. If the Democrats can't find a similarly strong leader they're going to spend the next 2 years at least being continuously steamrolled by the Republican majority, and Nancy Pelosi has already shown she's incapable of being that kind of leader.

What is it with this woman? She's acting like a crusader, trying to save the dieing by giving them poison. She needs to step down.

Pelosi and Boehner should BOTH step aside

Neither has shown themselves to represent the best interests of the American people. Both have shown themselves to be extremist, divisive and unwilling to act like mature adults. Governing our nation should NOT be a competition in which one side wins and the other loses, we ALL live here and the governance should reflect everyone, which means compromise is necessary. These two don't get it. It is time to stop playing for their "team" and start working for this country as a whole.

Bad idea. Nothing against Pelosi and her accomplishments, but she unfortunately became too much of a scapegoat for the Republican Teabaggers this last election cycle for whatever reason. It would be a bad move to bring her back in.

The people have spoken. They want Pelosi out. This shows that her motives are truly selve serving and not a representation of the peoples will she serves. When a politicians motives are skewed as such, they have ceased doing their job and serving their purpose. Her feeble attempt to hold onto power is an insult to her constituents and the American people as a whole.
