(CNN) - Outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Friday she will run for minority leader, even as some moderate and conservative Democrats have said she should step aside.
Pelosi made the announcement on Twitter: "Driven by the urgency of creating jobs & protecting #hcr, #wsr, Social Security & Medicare, I am running for Dem Leader."

Nancy Pelosi has to be the most clueless member of the house. Does she not even consider that her policies were soundly defeafed?
The democrats would be very smart to NOT vote for her as minority leader. This is their chance to get someone new who would help them and that is not her. She isn't interested in the US jobs or anything. She wants only power. Please vote another deserving person into that position. She is dead wood and needs to bow out.
Please just go a way. Haven't you done enough damage already? Do you think you're the great savior of this nation or what? I already have a mom I don't need one in Washington trying to take care of me. I'm a big girl now! My mom taught me how to work hard and earn my way, not have somebody else take care of me like you seem to think you need to do.
Talk about an ego. Your party just got slaughtered, in large part thanks to your heavy-handedness, and you actually don't think stepping aside is the prudent thing? You actually believe you'll get the votes?
In a way, I hope she does. I left the party because of her and the current Democratic party is best represented by her. Good luck with it, guys.

She should step aside, it is clear that Americans whether democrats or republicans don't want her there. Her job is to work for the people not her own personal agenda and beliefs... On top of that she is awful

I think it's a good short-term strategy for her and the Dems because it counters the perception they're down and are simply going to rollover for the Republicans. If you look at the popular vote totals the Republicans claim of a mandate is false.
The down side is it truly is in both parties' interest to compromise otherwise the possibility of a third party entry in '12 goes up and that will threaten one of the major candidates. Pelosi is a die-hard partisan who will not compromise and a continuation of the current tone will not be helpful.
You ought to step aside. Staying in will only serve to hurt your party.
She really should step aside. The overwhelming democrat losses this past election can be attributed to her.
