(CNN) - Outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Friday she will run for minority leader, even as some moderate and conservative Democrats have said she should step aside.
Pelosi made the announcement on Twitter: "Driven by the urgency of creating jobs & protecting #hcr, #wsr, Social Security & Medicare, I am running for Dem Leader."

Naturally – the past two years have been so great for her and she's got so much support! In all serious though this just shows how much of a narcissist she is when people of her own party are asking her to step aside and she still can't believe she is unliked.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is flabergasted that after the results of Nov 2cd she would think her party would support her. This should be a sanity check for thos dems that survived. The GOP couldn't aslk for a better testamonial to the the statements that the Dems simply are not listening to the american people.

Pelosi has done a great job as the first female speaker and was intrumental in passing a lot of good bills. Unfortunately, when they got to the Senate they were stopped by the minority Republicans. The Republicans have painted a negative picture of her (probably because she can get bills passed) and they have convinced the general public that she is a bad person. I would prefer Chuck Schumer for this position as that would give the Dems a fresh start. Then, if the Republicans refuse to work across the table then the public will see that they are the "obstructionist" I think the heat is on the R's do finally do something. They will also have to deal with the extremist tea party that will want results.

Pelosi is living in the twilight zone! She is so far out of touch with what most Americans want it's not funny. Calif. is the most screwed up state of all and guess why? We have Barbara," I never saw a tax I didn't support" Boxer, Moron Pelosi who is not qualified to be a dog catecher in my opinion, and now Jerry Brown again. What a mess we are in and it's no small coincidence that we are totally controlled by Democrats! I don't like any politicians but you just can't keep the printing presses going and spending money at the state and federal levels and expect to survive. I wish Pelosi would just fade away. She is disgraceful and not very bright. To think that she was the third highest ranking person in our government is scary. Good riddance! We are in deep trouble at every level of government, city, state and federal. No one has shown me they have a clue how to operate within a budget! Whoever practices fiscal restraint will get my vote in '12.

Well I guess that Ms. Pelosi puts her ego and personal power ahead of what is best for her party. The Dem's got a drubbing in no small part because of Pelosi's ultra liberal image.
