BREAKING: Pelosi running for Dem leader

(CNN) - Outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Friday she will run for minority leader, even as some moderate and conservative Democrats have said she should step aside.

Pelosi made the announcement on Twitter: "Driven by the urgency of creating jobs & protecting #hcr, #wsr, Social Security & Medicare, I am running for Dem Leader."

Call in Father Marin... the only way to get rid of her is by exorcism. The power of Christ compels you... the power of Christ compels you...

Naturally – the past two years have been so great for her and she's got so much support! In all serious though this just shows how much of a narcissist she is when people of her own party are asking her to step aside and she still can't believe she is unliked.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who is flabergasted that after the results of Nov 2cd she would think her party would support her. This should be a sanity check for thos dems that survived. The GOP couldn't aslk for a better testamonial to the the statements that the Dems simply are not listening to the american people.

Doesn't she having anything else to do? She doesn't need the money, and besides, it's time for other people to have a chance.

Pelosi has done a great job as the first female speaker and was intrumental in passing a lot of good bills. Unfortunately, when they got to the Senate they were stopped by the minority Republicans. The Republicans have painted a negative picture of her (probably because she can get bills passed) and they have convinced the general public that she is a bad person. I would prefer Chuck Schumer for this position as that would give the Dems a fresh start. Then, if the Republicans refuse to work across the table then the public will see that they are the "obstructionist" I think the heat is on the R's do finally do something. They will also have to deal with the extremist tea party that will want results.

Pelosi is living in the twilight zone! She is so far out of touch with what most Americans want it's not funny. Calif. is the most screwed up state of all and guess why? We have Barbara," I never saw a tax I didn't support" Boxer, Moron Pelosi who is not qualified to be a dog catecher in my opinion, and now Jerry Brown again. What a mess we are in and it's no small coincidence that we are totally controlled by Democrats! I don't like any politicians but you just can't keep the printing presses going and spending money at the state and federal levels and expect to survive. I wish Pelosi would just fade away. She is disgraceful and not very bright. To think that she was the third highest ranking person in our government is scary. Good riddance! We are in deep trouble at every level of government, city, state and federal. No one has shown me they have a clue how to operate within a budget! Whoever practices fiscal restraint will get my vote in '12.

She does not get it. The country just rejected her poor performance. Go ahead Dems, elect her to be your leader again. President Obama and all of you will pay in 2010. Republicans should be happy to see this happen. Dems: She is too liberal and the country just said that. Don't you get it?

Translation: we far lefties in the House don't want Steny Hoyer as our leader. So, please keep this job for a few months until we can prop someone else up enough to take him on.

Sorry, Steny. You shouldn't have discontinued your subscription to Pravda.

I can only say this about Pelosi- YOU'RE FIRED!!!! She still does not get it. As far as those outside her sorry district comprised of leftists, she is poison to America. The evil witch of the west is dead; bring on the moderates who can connect with America. And Pelois, quit trying to rake it in from the public.. You have been on the public dole too long. Go home!

Well I guess that Ms. Pelosi puts her ego and personal power ahead of what is best for her party. The Dem's got a drubbing in no small part because of Pelosi's ultra liberal image. Now instead of doing the right thing and stepping aside, she is goign to put her party to a big test of wills. Sad, but predictable.

I'm a republican. I even LIKE obama. Great guy. Pelosi is bad news bears for the democratic party, and they'd be smart to replace her.

they just dont get it. nancy pelosi should bow out gracefully. obama will not get a 2nd term w/ pelosi at the helm in any capacity. she should step down this makes me wonder if the president really knows whats going on? he needs to clear out his inner circle asap and get new blood involved in this process and if he fails to heed the message from the trouncing he got and reverse course as the guy says on the show the office....... prez----– "your done". nancy pelosi please just go away retire you've made enough money to buy a football team go enjoy it.
