Palin e-mail hacker sentenced to over a year in prison

(CNN) -  The man convicted of hacking into former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's e-mail account was sentenced Friday to one year and one day in federal prison, along with three years of supervised release, according to a courtroom deputy.

A federal judge in Knoxville, Tennessee, rejected a request from David Kernell's attorney for a sentence of probation only.  Federal prosecutors had pushed for at least 18 months in prison.

GREAT NEWS!! All these fools need to do some hard time. We need to start making examples of them, increasign the sentences until this BS stops. Now if they would just jail all these damn email spammers for 25 years we'd be golden.

I guess this means they should give Palin one year as well for conducting State business illegally, heck just get the courts to give her one year of silence !!! The crime she committed is far worse then the hackers crime, he deserves jail time and so does she if justice were to be fair.

And what about her Royal Half-Wit Highness? Will she do any time for any item in her repertoire of illegalites while she was serving her Half-Term as Gov?

To Nancy Pelosi, the wicked witch of the west, the DemocRAT gift that just keeps on giving: You are one angry, misinformed, little man or woman. I feel sorry for you and hope you get some help for your emotional disorders. As far as the excessive punishment doled out to this poor fool, I'm sure he'll get out early for good behavior. What a waste of our tax dollars prosecuting and jailing this young man.

A computer hacker gets a year in jail?!?!? What about GWB and his WMD that led to our killing of over 100,000. innocent Iraqi people and losing several thousand American Troops?

The man belongs in Jail. He broke the Geneva Convention and still thinks it is okay.

Got what he deserved...was a very stupid move on his part, no matter that she's the single most annoying thing in Amurika. However, it should be noted that what he did was not "hacking." Sitting down and repeatedly guessing at someone's email password until you get it right, because they were so blazingly stupid that they used an easy to guess password, is not "hacking." I know you want to make it sound as sensational as possible, CNN, but get real. The guy violated Jabberwocky Barbie's privacy and should pay for that, but trying to make it sound conspiratorial or like high-tech espionage is absurd. He merely exploited her rampant stupidity.

Any disruption of the rants of this crazy person (Palin) should be applauded. I know it is a crime to hack, but to me, everytime she spews her hate and lies at the POTUS she is committing a crime. A crime of treason. I'll take the hacker over the traitor any day!!
