Dem says Pelosi should step down

(CNN) –Rep. Allen Boyd, a Democrat from Florida who lost his reelection bid, is calling on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to take her name out of the running as the Democratic leader for the next Congress.

At the party’s caucus meeting, Boyd said Pelosi is “the face of our defeat” and insisted that “new leadership” is needed.

Pelosi is expected to easily be elected by her colleagues as the minority leader later Wednesday.

Shush please, Congressman Boyd. We need Nancy's face over the next two years, especially in April and health care insurance renewal times to remind hard working, tax paying Americans of why they are paying so much more. Liberals think the money we earn is theirs to give away to their NEA educated, drug using, non working, non taxpaying constituents. Pelosis face will launch millions of Republican votes in 2012 and we can take back the Senate and get rid of this lying, corrupt, inept, incompetent, union toady president the SEIU/ACORN stole the 2008 election for.

Liz to Boyd: shut up! it wasn't Nancy Pelosi who lost this election for you folks, it was voter apathy and lies blasted day after day by the repugs and their big business partners. if Democrats would unite to do the kind of good things we elected you to do, like the repugs united to keep you from doing them, you would have had an excited, motivated base flocking to the polls. 'i don't belong to any organized party, i'm a Democrat,' was never truer than the past two years and the election. i'm glad a lot of blue dogs lost. if you don't support the Democratic Party's platform, don't call yourself a Democrat! the voters will see now how incapable of governing the rethugs are and now NOT fiscally responsible they are. everything they're proposing so far will ADD BILLIONS to the deficit. their sham attack on earmarks won't reduce the deficit by one penny. it's just to make them look like they're doing something. now that they have to govern, the country will see very clearly that they can't!

How about YOU and the rest of you Blue Dogs get out of the party. To hell with your being moderate. Either you're with us or against us. Speaker Pelosi did what was best for the country and for middle class Americans. Those scumbag republicans and Fixed News demonized her because she was doing such a marvelous job. She's the first woman Speaker of the House and this is the treatment she gets? Kick rocks! She got so much accomplished compared to her predecessors. Her successor will be a complete failure in comparison to her. You lost this election because you didn't stand by your values. Healthcare reform and Wall Street reform was passed and none of you idiots ran on it. You should be ashamed of yourselves for not having a pair you spineless wimp.

  10. Nancy Pelosi, the wicked witch of the west, the DemocRAT gift that just keeps on giving

It would appear that everybody in the DemocRAT party is NOT delusional, just the ones leading the party and the committed leftist kool-aid drinkers that think the reasons for their defeat was that they didn't veer far enough left with their policies and failed to communicate adequately to the stupid, unwashed masses.

The country is in danger when people like this are running the country. If they continue on this path, lead by Pelosi, the Progressive left that has taken control of the DemocRAT Party will destroy it for good in 2012. Obozocare is turning into the nightmare oppponents said ti would. The progressives drunken spending spree hasn't produced any jobs.

Again, why give the keys back to the woman who drove you into the ditch? Do you want her to drive you all off the cliff in 2012? By all means, GO FOR IT!

Just because old white guys could not bring themselves to speak out for all of the great bills that Speaker Pelosi succeeded in getting passed, is no reason for her to step down. The old white guys' being afraid of their own shadows is the reason for their defeat.

The only thing Nancy Pelosi did wrong was to be an effective leader. She's a smart, strong, and tough leader, and that's why she has pissed off so many people who disagree with her positions.

Pelosi did amazing things with the last congress. Things that the remaining spineless democrats are assamed of and shouldn't be. They helped the little guy who has no voice. That said. She should step down and let some new voices carry the torch. Go out with amazing achievements and start advising the next generation.

  16. Ain't life strange?

Pelosi is not the reason these Dems lost re-election. It was the failure on their part to stand by the accomplishments if their party. Give it a rest. Its so easy and preferable to point fingers at everyone but yourself.

"The face of defeat" is accepting defeat which makes one a winner, that's what we teach our children. All losers aren't losers and all winners aren't winners, it's how you react to either but to be bitter makes one appear to have a sense of entitlement.

As a life long Democrat ( other that being foolish and voting for R. R. once ) and a strong supporter of our current president I thing that the current speaker needs to go. She is a lighting rod for the radical right, she could not get a decent public option for health care, she could not get the congress that had the majority to vote in sync like the other side does for all crap they shove down our throats. She flat needs to go and get a strong leader in the office so we can get our message out to the people !

This person lost because he let the Tea Party Republicans convince those in his district that healthcare reform and Wall Street reform didn't help them.

The fact is, it did and he should have been out front telling them how it helped them.

The Dems need someone with Pelosi's point of view and her tenacity. Otherwise they will end up endlessly acquiescing to the Republican agenda. However, the Republicans have successfully made her the face of all that is wrong in Washington. If she stays in a leadership position, that won't change. If someone else is selected, the Republicans will certainly try to paint the next leader the same way, BUT IT WILL TAKE TIME! They will not be able to do so in 2 years, and not someone new in the less visible post of majority leader.

For the good of the party, Pelosi MUST step down – or be rejected.

I think if Pelosi remains as leader of the House Democrats, it will be a long time before the Democrats take back the House. That's OK with me.

With the pit-bull dog tea partiers in congress, Democrats need both Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi. Next time maybe you democrats will start energizing your base instead of waiting till the last minute. Yes President Obama has done a whole lot since taking office, but who knows that other then you clowns in the beltway. The Repubs aren't going to tell us, they had there own agenda. Rest in Peace now that you are out of office!

Pelousy, Obama, Reid, and Rangle = The Dream Act of corruption, reward illegal immigrants for Going to College, does that mean completing college at a four year accredited educational institution or does that mean 6 hours at the local Taco Bell tech school for how to make tacos? Now if an illegal wants to join the US military and do the do in a war zone, WELCOME TO AMERICA MY FRIEND, however I believe that there is already a provision for that, am I correct? I still say charge them a $50,000.00 immigration fee to be paid toward the cost illegal immigration costs the tax payer, like at your schools and hospitals!
