Fox News chief: Obama's 'socialism' left of France

(CNN) – Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes isn't holding back when it comes to his opinion of President Obama, saying in a recent interview that he espouses a version of "socialism…too far left" even for some European countries.

"The president has not been very successful," Ailes told Howard Kurtz, the Washington Bureau Chief for the Daily Beast and a CNN contributor. "He just got kicked from Mumbai to South Korea, and he came home and attacked Republicans for it. He had to be told by the French and the Germans that his socialism was too far left for them to deal with."

The comments constituted part of Ailes' argument that Fox News is a fair and balanced news network that criticizes the president not because he is a Democrat but because the network merely reflects the fact that Obama "just has a different belief system than most Americans."

Meanwhile, Ailes added that it has always been his network's policy to "be more direct" in challenging commander-in-chiefs, no matter their party affiliation.

He also suggested the rest of the news media is only now beginning to report accurately on the president.

"He's had 3,000 press secretaries since he got into office," Ailes also said. (For the record, Robert Gibbs has been Obama's only press secretary so far.) "He's making it harder for the press to make him look good. When the press falls in love, they fall in love hard. They're like teenagers in love. It's like the old Frankie Lymon song, 'Why Do Fools Fall in Love?'"

Ailes also came to former President George W. Bush's defense, saying Obama has relentlessly attacked the "poor guy."

"This poor guy, sitting down on his ranch clearing brush, gained a lot of respect for keeping his mouth shut. I literally never heard an Obama speech that didn't blame Bush," he said.

Why don't you racists REALLY say what you REALLY mean? You use the word "socialist" only because you are not MAN enough to call him the "n" word. What is the belief of most Americans? What you REALLY mean is most white Americans as you have NEVER nor will you EVER view any person of color as American. People all over the world know what you are and why you are so AGAINST EVERYTHING our president does. I am praying for the day God gets fed up with your ignorance and takes all of you angry white bigots OFF the face of the earth. I only hope I am alive to witness it. What a great day for America this will be.

Wow, Ailes either has no concept of the the political systems of France and Germany, the definition of Socialism and the reality of Obama's political philiosophy, or he's a pathological liar. The 3,000 press secretaries comment would seem to indicate the latter.

Mr Ailes is pretty much just stating facts. Almost everybody knows and agrees that the results of Obama's recent foreign trip were pretty dismal. I can't think of anybody saying his trip was a success? And its also true that very socialist European countries are horrified by Obama's economic policies.

Fox News is partially owned by Saudi Alwaleed bin Talal. So in essence, they are supported by Muslims who have found a new means of targeting America: through the media.

Objectivity is a word that no one has ever heard of at Fox News. Not in the news room and not in the executive offices. Subjectivity is the word of the decade for them.

Wow, what a surprise this is. Roger needs a break from the Kool-Aid he so fervently dispenses. From the looks of it, he should cut back on the sugar a bit. What worthless drivel from a multi-billionaire who never said a bad thing about Commandant Bush, or Darth Cheney.

So much for Fox being a news organization. Is this worst than Olbermann giving a candidate $2400.00? Fox news is no longer trying to pretend ita news organization. This is the first Republicanhit on Obama for the 2012 election and the communication wing of the GOP, Fox News is leading the charge.

Many conservatives, like this man, have seriously lost all touch with reality. How do people lose touch with the real world like this? How is it possible? At least I can see why Fox News is like the way it is, pretty much every quoted statement in this article was an outright lie.

So much for "fair and balanced". Obama should be proud that such rightwing idiots as Ailes and all the mindless FuxNews lemmings criticize him. It is a CLEAR indication that Obama's probably got it about right!

And by the way, Ailes is a scallywag LIAR. "Ailes added that it has always been his network's policy to "be more direct" in challenging commander-in-chiefs, no matter their party affiliation." Right. Any moron who believes this should get his DNA checked.

Ailes has his opinon, just like the rest of us. He lives high on the hog as demonstrated by his bulk and fat face. He's not lean and mean like Obama. Jealously comes to mind, when grossly overweight people with money and power condemn those that do not think like him!

This fat old toadie is certainly promoting the political agenda of Boss Murdock, and he'll probably be handsomely rewarded for his attacks on anything perceived to be liberal or social. Sounds to me like he's just making s#!t up, just like his talking heads on Fox Noise. Apparently Ailes doesn't know that the US is the only western country without a national health care plan.

Roger Ailes, I am appalled at your description of Obama's policies as socialism left of France. Look at the growing number of wealthy Americans who are depositing their business profits overseas away from American taxation, while hundreds of millions of ordinary and middle class Americans don't have that luxury. They have to pay taxes or have the IRS come after them. Many have to repay school loans and take out second mortgages for medical and other expenses. There is a huge gap between the rich and the poor and the middle class is getting squeezed out. If Obama is a terrible socialist for trying to help the middle class and ordinary Americans versus the Republicans who favor the rich, then give me Obama's socialism. There is a class war coming to a city near you and the rich will howl and wail as the have nots go after the haves. People like Ailes better have a one-way ticket to the moon, where he can finally be weightless.

Left of Europe, that's just laughable. The guy has zero credibility. Health in Europe is run by governments, Obama's didn't even include a public option. Obama HAS NOT raised taxes and even cut them as part of the stimulus. Yes he wants part of Bush's to lapse, but even if those lapse his tax levels are still below all European countries. He has 3 republicans in his cabinet (Treasury, Defense and Transportation). He hasn't touched gun control. Etc. He is actually one of the most moderate Democrat President's in recent history. Fox is not a legitimate source for information.

This from the Fox News chairman ... wow nothing like fair and UNBIASED coverage right? Fox used to swoon over Bush during his time in office and to paint him as a "poor guy" as though he had NOTHING to do with OUR countries current ills is asinine! Robert Gibbs has been the ONLY press secretary for this administration and to imply otherwise is pure idiocy. What a MORON!!
