Fox News chief: Obama's 'socialism' left of France

(CNN) – Fox News Chairman Roger Ailes isn't holding back when it comes to his opinion of President Obama, saying in a recent interview that he espouses a version of "socialism…too far left" even for some European countries.

"The president has not been very successful," Ailes told Howard Kurtz, the Washington Bureau Chief for the Daily Beast and a CNN contributor. "He just got kicked from Mumbai to South Korea, and he came home and attacked Republicans for it. He had to be told by the French and the Germans that his socialism was too far left for them to deal with."

The comments constituted part of Ailes' argument that Fox News is a fair and balanced news network that criticizes the president not because he is a Democrat but because the network merely reflects the fact that Obama "just has a different belief system than most Americans."

Meanwhile, Ailes added that it has always been his network's policy to "be more direct" in challenging commander-in-chiefs, no matter their party affiliation.

He also suggested the rest of the news media is only now beginning to report accurately on the president.

"He's had 3,000 press secretaries since he got into office," Ailes also said. (For the record, Robert Gibbs has been Obama's only press secretary so far.) "He's making it harder for the press to make him look good. When the press falls in love, they fall in love hard. They're like teenagers in love. It's like the old Frankie Lymon song, 'Why Do Fools Fall in Love?'"

Ailes also came to former President George W. Bush's defense, saying Obama has relentlessly attacked the "poor guy."

"This poor guy, sitting down on his ranch clearing brush, gained a lot of respect for keeping his mouth shut. I literally never heard an Obama speech that didn't blame Bush," he said.

This is true. It would be very nice to findout that Obama had hung himself in the middle of the night, right after he stabbed Biden. However none of this can happen before the new congress takes office.

Ailes is so full of bull I don't even know where to begin. FOX NEVER criticized Bush even though under his watch thousands of inocent Iraqis' were killed due to his and Cheneys' illegal war. FOX NEVER criticized Bush even while illegal torture was being carried out on Bushs' approval. FOX NEVER critized Bush even when they were trampling all over the constitution with illegal wiretaps. FOX NEVER critized Bush even as under his administration the economy was headed for the cliff. No not once did they express any thing but praise and blame everyone else for what had gone wrong. Mr. Ailes is fat overblown liar, who employs fat overblown enterainers. No credibility whatsoever. No justification for being a shill for the Republican party. Not one time during the recent campaign did they have a Democratic candidate requesting campaign donations and giving their address (Sharon Angle just to mention one) Fair and Balanced my fat fanny.

When FOX says "Most Americans", does it mean the the top 2% of the RICH Americans?
Ailes is an old fool who knows nothing about socialism. America is far from becoming socialist in compare to China and Russia. Goevernment helping the poor and underserved American is not an socialist agenda. Wake up! Many people are suffering. GOP denials unemployment benefits to the families in is ecoonomic crisis is crude and heartless.

Fox News has absolutely been fair in its political reporting. Unfortunate for the Democrats, fair does not always mean consistent with the views of the President. In fact, both Bill O'Reilly and Shawn Hannity have regular participation and ample time from both conservative and liberal sides of issues. People who say they don't have obviously not watched the programs.

But yes, Obama has turned out to act intensely more liberal than he campaigned on. And I expect when he starts campaigning again he will try to pass himself off again as a fiscally responsible middle of the road politician. That should be interesting to see.

Maybe the reason the President sometimes blames president Bush is because President Bush's policies are to blame. Like it or not, the financial meltdown in our country came under President Bush who ran the show for 8 years with complete Republican support. President Bush had no deficit when he came into office. Granted he had wars he got us into, but his intelligence was wrong and we went into Iraq instead of fighting the terrorists that caused 9/11. Are these things ever truly discussed on Fox News? Fair and Balanced? Right. They don't cover the news; they opine on what is happening in our country, like Mr. Ailes here.

"Ailes' argument that Fox News is a fair and balanced news network that criticizes the president not because he is a Democrat...." And then on the next paragraph he goes on and defends Bush referring him as "poor guy" Really? that really shows how "fair and balanced" you are. It only shows how hard you fell in love with Bush. Yes, kind of like that song "why Do Fools Fall in Love". Oh, and the "3,000 secretaries" reference only confirms that the lies that Fox masquerades as news really do come from the top

This just shows that Fox News isn't news. They are a right wing media outlet. I would hope that they would be honest about it. There is no good reason why that these people can't be honest about being conservatives or reactionaries (further to the right of conservatives).

Looks like this far Left agenda is starting to unravel. Just think where we would be now if FOX and Conservative talk-radio had successfully been silenced – just like Mr. Soros wants and is working overtime to achieve.

"Meanwhile, Ailes added that it has always been his network's policy to "be more direct" in challenging commander-in-chiefs, no matter their party affiliation."

How would a rationale person respond to this level of delusion, or to be more direct, such an outright lie? All this guy needs is a rubber nose and a squirting flower on his lapel to complete his act.

What can one man do against so much hate?
-Theoden, King of the Riders of Rohan, Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers.

Words matter. Conservatives don't know the definitions of the words: socialism, liberal or empathy. These words are not in the conservatives lexicon and foreign to them.

And even if they did know the definition of the word socialism, I would challenge any conservative to point out the socialist legislation that Obama has passed. They can't. Because OBAMA IS NOT A SOCIALIST!

They know they are lying. Did you see how he tried to slip that extra lie in at the end? ""He's had 3,000 press secretaries since he got into office," Ailes also said.
Everybody and they mama knows Bobby Gibbs has been Obama's ONLY press secretary
BUSH on the other hand couldn't keep a press secretary to save his life.

and this is what he wants America to look like. Old, Fat, White, and filled with fear and hate. Thanks, but no thanks.
"Poor guy"? That "poor guy" has caused the deaths of thousands of young Americans.
That "poor guy" should be in prison.
As for "what Americans believe", I think his election shows what Americans believe. When he (President Obama) is re-elected in 2 years, Ails and his foriegn master will still claim that we AMERICANS don't want him.
Just more proof that Fox "news" is nothing more that the propaganda wing of the extreme right.
Why do so many self proclaimed "Patriots" listen to and believe what is doled out by foriegners?
I guess they don't really know what "patriotism" is.

Could you even imagine the Chairman of NBC News or ABC News coming out and saying something simliar 10, 15, 20 years ago? No way. This simply proves that FOX News is merely a tabloid, devoid of any truth or perspective.

This big fat red neck is rather sickening. All of a sudden you have people calling this President a socialist and every other name under the sun simply because he is an Afro-American. Fox News is a racist organization period. That's right I said it and I mean it.

Bush keeping his mouth shut is just common sense. If he were to make too much noise I could see some of the back room shenanigans of the Bush administration suddenly being publicized. Bush/Cheney would not look good under examination. As for Roger Ailes, how can anyone say that he runs a news organization? Before anyone votes republican they should be forced to watch the movie "Fair Game"
