Ailes: NPR 'Nazi's,' Jon Stewart 'crazy'

(CNN) – Another day brings another round of fun quotes from Roger Ailes, the chairman of Fox News.

Yesterday, in part one of the Daily Beast's interview with Ailes, the Fox chief said Obama's "socialism was too far left" for France and Germany.

Now in part two of the interview we see Ailes setting his sights on Comedy Central's Jon Stewart and NPR's recent firing of journalist Juan Williams.

Calling Stewart "crazy," Ailes said the popular comedian's career revolves solely around exploiting the public's polarization – the same charge, by the way, that Stewart makes about Fox News.

"He loves polarization. He depends on it. If liberals and conservatives are all getting along, how good would that show be? It'd be a bomb," said Ailes.

"He hates conservative views. He hates conservative thoughts. He hates conservative verbiage. He hates conservatives," a definitive Ailes added.

Ailes also tore into Stewart's recent "Restore Sanity" rally on Capitol Hill, saying "don't give me a social speech on the steps of the Washington Monument. Don't lapse into non-comedy."

But the Fox News chief saved his heaviest fire for NPR, which dismissed Williams last month after he said he felt uncomfortable around some Muslims on airplanes in the days after September 11.

"They are, of course, Nazis. They have a kind of Nazi attitude," Ailes said of NPR. "They are the left wing of Nazism. These guys don't want any other point of view. They don't even feel guilty using tax dollars to spout their propaganda. They are basically Air America with government funding to keep them alive."

NPR spokeswoman Anna Christopher told the Daily Beast that "we will let Mr. Ailes' words speak for themselves."

Political scientists consider the Nazi (fascism) to be extreme right wing while communists are extreme left wing. So you can't have a left wing Nazi.

Roger Ailes. president of FOX News. The man that ran the campaigns and was responsible for getting Nixon, Reagan and Bush Sr. elected. He bleeds GOP and runs FOX News who claims to be "Fair and balanced" without a hint of bias towards any party in particular. Does anybody really believe that for a second? Yes, people who watch FOX News claim there is no bias, but also claim every other media outlet on the planet is part of the Liberal bias. Right, everybody but you is biased.

I hate those things too! I love John Stewart

'They are the left wing of Nazism'
There is NOT such a thing!!! He could say that their left views are as extremists as the Nazis were/are, which is at least an argument, but to all those that are saying that he 'hit the jackpot/nail' and whatever:
Nazism is an extreme RIGHT WING movement, mixed with pseudo/bogus-cience and strong historical revisionism, always was and always will be. RIGHT WING, not left.
At least get it straight you idiot!!!!

Roger Ailes is the right wing of the Nazis! Ailes thrives on polarization! Ailes himself is an actual Nazi!...oh, that's nice, see how I did that? I guess the first amendment also protects my right to say whatever I want in public with no consequences. That was really easy. NOW does anyone not understand where Fox "News" is coming from?

Mr Ailes and the 'Extreme Right Wing' make the mistake in believing that if ones personal views aren't Hard Right, than they must be Hard Left. I have no doubt that privately MANY in journalism are Progressive/Liberals, but they take the profession seriously and try NOT to have their personal views come forth in their speech. Can Anyone HONESTLY say a Brian Williams or Katy Couric are just polar opposites of Glenn Beck and Sean Hannity?

The fact that this bigoted ignorant moron even HAS a public rostrum from which to puke his rants is scary.
I hope he leaves his brain to science so it can be quarantined.
    Honestly, God save America.

Did the NPR spokesperson deny what Mr. Ailes said? No. Or, at least, CNN did not report it. One should not dismiss a statement just because it is made with strong language. NPR is often a decent news source. However, it is not neutral at all and has funding support from the US government.

Any person that has listened to, or watched fox knows who is the crazy person here. wonder how they let Ailes roam free for so long. But, again, when you got money, seems like you can do anything. Couple of law suits against fox for the lies they spew might change all that. And they certainly SHOULD START WITH BECK.

You forgot that he said Obama has had something like 3000 press secreteries since he started. I count one – Robert Gibbs. This guy REALLY is living in fantasy land.

Problem is that people actually believe the poo that spews from his jowel-ridden gullet.

To Mr. Ailes, "2+2=4" is liberal bias. That's why he hired Hannity and Beck–like him, they missed the "2+2" part in school.

He misspoke about what'd happen if politicians weren't polarized... The Daily Show wouldn't be "A" bomb, it'd still be "the" bomb.
And Fox News, well... they'd most likely cease to exist.

The NAZI party was a right-wing party with extremely conservative views. So by saying that NPR is the left-wing of the Nazi Party does he essentially mean they are moderate and timid Nazis?

Funny, all the fox news listeners posting on here about the how bias NPR is, when in reality it is probably the most non-political source out there. The problem is that when all you do is listen to fox news, anything that is slanted significantly to the right appears bias to you. If there isn't some talking head screaming about nazis (can we PLEASE stop with the nazi talk) or about how Obama is destroying America, then to the average fox news listener, that is bias.

These people live in a bubble, and anything that doesn't comport with their preconceived expectations is simply not true to them. Facts, not opinions, but objective facts are of no value to these people. Like the 200m dollar/day trip for Obama. Roundly agree upon as false. But don't talk to a conservative about it. They simply refuse to see the truth if it falls outside of the narrative they've been fed by Fox.

here is a continued remnant of our country's ugly past which continues to linger much like the stink which takes a while to leave. remember, our founding fathers wrote stuff that was better than them such as "freedom of speech" while "owning" humans who had no voice or be killed if they spoke.

Goodbye NPR funding now that Republicans will control the purse strings. You had better start wooing Soros so you can keep your dribble on the air.. Liberals have never been successful with their own shows other than Stewart who may just be having his 5 minutes of fame.. Conservatives on the other hand are very successful since their voices are more in line with the American majority and therefore they garner a greater audience....
