Was McCain censured for his actions in the center of the Keading loan scandal of the 1980s? You know, the scandal that cost the taxpayers BILLIONS? Nope. He was reprimanded. What a crock of crap. Did McCain pay taxes on the trips he took with Keating to the Bahamas? Nope. Did McCain pay taxes on the business dealings he made with with wife's family and Keating in Arizona? Nope. Sorry right wingers, if you don't know about McCain and other Rep[ublicans pulling this same crap then athat's because Fox News isn.t only censuring they censor. Rangel did wrong, no doubt. But when one group of senators escapes punsihment when another gets censured there's a problem.

It is a shame to censure Rep. Rangel after letting Newt Gingrich get away with a reprimand for the following crimes:

1997 – Rep. Newt Gingrich (Georgia): Complaint alleged improper use of official resources in preparation of a college course, conflict of interest, and improper use of tax-exempt entities in support of a college course (September 12, 1994); investigation was expanded to include allegations that Gingrich made false statements to Committee on Standards, his relationship with foundation/course violated foundation’s tax-exempt status under Section 501(c)3 of the IRS Code, he used unofficial resources for official purposes, and his activities and relationship with another foundation (September 26, 1995); reprimanded and directed to reimburse $300,000, 395-28 (January 21, 1997)

If this had been a conservative or republican he would be out of congress and in jail by now. Pathetic. No excuse for this.

Precisely why term limits should be adopted . It would not give the Charlie Rangels and any house members to stay beyond 3 consecutive 2 yr terms,After a four year break they could run again in the event they did not walk away with enough money on their previous tour. Maybe if they had to work and pay for their medical instead of the freebees they would have some compassion for the taxpayers that give them that ridiculous package of benefits for a lifetime.

Further proof that all of these politicians are crooks and term limits are required. "Censure".....you have got to be kidding me. The man should be in jail.

What this means is that Nancy Pelosi has to decide the punishment, how will that work out do you think? It is laughable. This is kind of like OJ getting away with it.

Censure is far too lenient for acts an domissions which would be treated as crimes for most citizens. He should be expelled by his colleagues because his constitutents are too tolerant of his criminality.
