(CNN) - Followers of Sen. Chris Dodd on Twitter received quite the surprise Thursday morning in the form of a profanity-laced tweet.
At 11:36 a.m. ET the Connecticut Democrat's almost 13,000 followers saw, "U love torturing me with this sh**."
His staff responded within three minutes by deleting the tweet and writing one of their own, "From Dodd Staff – Apologies to Dodd's followers, last tweet was not from Chris Dodd and the original tweet was gone."
The tweet was a far cry from his usual messages which include updates about legislation and Congressional hearings.
Dodd's office released a statement Thursday:
"Due to a technical mistake, a message was inadvertently sent from Senator Dodd's twitter account. Senator Dodd did not send the message. We have corrected the situation and apologize to his followers for the mistake and inappropriate language used in the message."
This is his last year in the Senate. He is not seeking re-election.

It apparently was sent from one of his friends of Country Wide accounts, paid for by friends of Fannie and Freddie. Chris, we truly wish we could be torturing you for the pain you and Barney have reigned down on America with your BS finance principles and lack of insight, hindsight or foresight. Alas, you like Rangle and Pelosi will retire to a six figure incomes paid for with our tax dollars while we remain to rot in a failing economy due mainly to your personal and political directives.
I hate to be the guy that messed that one up. "Technical mistake" means that someone on his staff who normally sends his tweets accidentally sent a message on the wrong account. They meant to send it to someone else.

Why is this news? Even if he did send it out, who the hell doesn't swear? I hear 2 year olds say far worst things. Grow up people.
Guess since he couldn't get discounted mortgages from Countrywide anymore he would retire. Dodd is nothing more than another corrupt politician. He is a disgrace.

So mistakes happen and we are all human, but I think some of us have forgotten this during the last decade. That's why I don't tweet or use facebook. Just email and voicemail. As my late Mom used to say, don't say or do anything that you don't want to see or hear again.
