Senator's controversial Tweet

(CNN) - Followers of Sen. Chris Dodd on Twitter received quite the surprise Thursday morning in the form of a profanity-laced tweet.

At 11:36 a.m. ET the Connecticut Democrat's almost 13,000 followers saw, "U love torturing me with this sh**."

His staff responded within three minutes by deleting the tweet and writing one of their own, "From Dodd Staff – Apologies to Dodd's followers, last tweet was not from Chris Dodd and the original tweet was gone."

The tweet was a far cry from his usual messages which include updates about legislation and Congressional hearings.

Dodd's office released a statement Thursday:

"Due to a technical mistake, a message was inadvertently sent from Senator Dodd's twitter account. Senator Dodd did not send the message. We have corrected the situation and apologize to his followers for the mistake and inappropriate language used in the message."

This is his last year in the Senate. He is not seeking re-election.

Last time I checked the Nazis did not fight for the rights of minorities, gays, the poor, less fortunate, the disabled like the Liberals do. In fact I remember reading that they pretty much blamed all the Germany's problems on minorities, the disabled, and the tolerant people (AKA Liberals), kind of like Republicans do today...

...so if you are looking for a Nazi, look in the mirror....

I think Chris Dodd is a technical mistake for which we are all now paying.

Over 319 Billion Dollars!!! Yep, get a job. Don't tell me people cannot find work. It is out there if people want, and not just want to live off the people that do work. Get a job!!!!!

Gale, perhaps you could help those who really are looking for jobs by posting where these jobs you speak of can be found, rather than blathering your inane garbage. It would help your side tremendously to lower the unemployment rates. Simply put: now that your party is in the drivers seat, it must bring jobs back to America ... if only to survive each of its members own political careers.

    OH MY GOD!!

A senator who used a word each and every one of us uses! The sky is falling!

Really CNN? This is news? We're fighting two wars, the people who caused the financial meltdown are right back to their same old behaviour and people are dying in droves in Haiti... but we get Dodds tweets? C'mon man, have some respect for your profession.
