Carville defiant on Obama comment

Washington (CNN) - Democratic strategist James Carville compared President Barack Obama to his Democratic primary rival and current Secretary of State Hillary Clinton Thursday, implying in rather lewd terms that Obama needs to toughen-up.

And he's not sorry for it.

"If Hillary gave up one of her balls and gave it to Obama, he'd have two," Carville said at a "Christian Science Monitor" breakfast discussion.

His comment was a response to whether Obama is taking strong enough stands on taxes and repealing the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" military policy.

Carville made a similar comment to "Newsweek" during the 2008 campaign season when he compared Clinton and Obama's toughness.

"If she gave him one of her cojones, they'd both have two," he said.

He reacted to the comment on CNN's "John King, USA" Thursday.

"If I offended anybody, I am not sorry and I do not apologize," Carville told CNN's Chief National Correspondent John King.

But he also said he intended the comment to be a joke.

"Of all the things people say about the president, I think this is fairly mild," Carville said. "I repeated a joke I made in the campaign."

James it may have been a joke but come on the pres. is taking enough heat without you mouthing off. get in there and help fight with him the repos will not let up nor will they get anything done during the next two years unless you help out too. How about GM giving back all that money to the tax payers . Lets hear it for the monies we have had returned from these bailouts. Stop being negitive the democrats need to stick togeather so we can defeat the looney wing nuts and the lying old men

All Obama has ever done is attend high end schools. He may have a million dollar education but your right he is a weak sister. We see it daily – thin skinned. If he had to take what maybe a Whitman, Palin did or whoever the media hates at the moment is he would fade like flower.

Carville, you know what – I was beginning to LIKE you but I think you listen to your wife too much. So I will say this – give up ONE of your balls and President Obama will have 3 and you have NONE – How do you like that????

President Obama is doing fine in the LAME DUCK session. He will do fine his next two years. Try to keep your comments to yourself when it seems it's coming from your WIFE!! Jeez!

President Obama will keep MOVING AMERICA FORWARD to the 22nd Century now!

Obama can not win for losing. He is too soft based on those the left and too "left" when you hear from those on the right. I do hope he gets his message out so that people realize that he is getting things done.

I am not so sure that he doesn't need both of her cajones.

Carville didn't compare Obama to Hitler or question his citizenship. Of course, considering Hillary's willingness to fall backwards in voting for the Iraq War, I would question whether she in fact has more "balls," as Carville put it. Nevertheless, lighten-up, people! Obama does need to toughen-up, and Carville was phrasing it in a way that only he could.

Gosh, I have been saying the same thing for several months, and I did not make the John King Show. Mr. Carville hit the proverbial "nail on the head"so let's stop banging on Carville, and ask the POTUS if he thought of calling Carville a liar, or just growing a bigger set?

James Carville is a great American. Obama is a weak little man and we should have elected Hillary Clinton.

last time Obama showed brass was when he rebuked the Repub's LIES with "That's not true, and you know that's not true" on their own turf (repub retreat) I would call it a LIE instead of an untruth!!
Nancy Pelosi also allowed them to Breitbart her comment "we need to pass Healthcare reform to find out what's in it"

It's NOT that repubs are masters of P R, it's just that dems think it is rude to point out their untruths!

James Carville whose side are you on? Why join the 'Fox" attitude regarding OBama? Where is your loyalty to your party? I would like to see you try sitting in the President's chair for one day! It's very easy to join the mob mentality when you haven't walked in his shoes. You are a big dissapointment to many.

II can't think of anything positive to say about Carville, he is a guy without class and his support was no asset to Clinton in her quest for the nomination.

James is this what you really want to be known for. I don't know if your comment was more offensive to President Obama, or to your pal Hillary.
Maybe the question should be how many "balls" do you have?

It's always easy to comment, not so easy to run a government. Get a clue Carville.

Don't hold back Carville... tell us how you really feel! And thank you for not apologizing for the comment. Really. People have to have a reality check if it's OK to liken Obama to Hitler, but not OK to say he needs to grow a pair.

All of the slips of the tongue, walking back nasty comments, disrespecfulness is getting ridiculous. This comment from Carville is just insane. I don't know if folks are looking for ratings, or 15 minutes of fame. You really can't blame kids for what they say, especially when they hear adults spew nasty comments. It's fine to disagree, but to speak this way on TV is just plain stupid and should not be tolerated.
