Judge orders Gawker to remove Palin book excerpts

(CNN) - A federal judge ordered Gawker on Saturday to take down excerpts the website posted from Sarah Palin's upcoming book until at least November 30.

The post was removed by Saturday evening.

In his two-page decision, U.S. District Judge Thomas Griesa told Gawker to cease "from continuing to distribute, publish or otherwise transmit pages" from Sarah Palin's "America by Heart" until a hearing scheduled for November 30.

Gawker did not immediately respond to e-mail and telephone messages from CNN seeking comment on the case.

Thursday, the online gossip website had shot back via a post that read:

"Did you catch the excerpt we posted yesterday from Sarah Palin's new book? Sarah did. She tweets with rage: 'The publishing world is LEAKING out-of-context excerpts of my book w/out my permission? Isn't that illegal?' [Sarah: If you're reading this - and if you are, welcome! - you may want to take a moment to familiarize yourself with the law.]"

"America by Heart" is Palin's second book, following the 2009 publication of "Going Rogue." It is due out on Tuesday.

Following the Gawker leak, the former Alaska governor posted on her Facebook page an excerpt from the upcoming book.

"We have to know what makes America exceptional today more than ever because it is under assault today more than ever," she wrote. "This is my America, from my heart, and by my heart. I give it now to my children and grandchildren, and to yours, so they will always know what it was like in America when people were free."

why do we need to waste time even discussing this 'book' which is yet another very shallow attempt, by a privledged white woman, to make $ by putting in the market more worthless 'life and the status of my latest lamebrain thoughts' rubbish. She will continue as long as the media keeps her alive. Lord knows she is a loser with nothing of value to contribute but negativity and confusion. ALRIGHT ALREADY SARAH...enough is enough...it's time for you to shut up...you've had more say than we care for.

When people "were" free? What is she talking about? Fear mongers are the lowest, and the people who buy into them, those are the ones I pity.

The woman is an insult to America; she has yet to take on a meaningful challenge of any kind; all she can do is nit-pick and engage in squabbles

"so they will always know what it was like in America when people were free." Wow, I had no idea that slavery was in our future. Oh wait, no, not slavery, Sarah Palin's talking about socialism, right? Because socialism is just SO bad for society. :\

This lady is so un-Presidential. How would she ever handle a crisis with Iran or North Korea? Would she go onto her twitter account and start tweeting 140-character rants about how unfair life is?!

Sweetheart, we're still free – it's just that you don't like the fact that America democratically elected an African-American president who cares more Americans – ALL Americans, not just the white, so-called "Christian" ones – than he does about big-money interests who are pillaging our nation!

Sure. Like she's got an attention-span long enough to write a couple of pages, never mind a book.

Maybe somebody'll identify the actual author(s).

"when people were free?" Is Sarah Palin planning to reenact slavery or something?

I read excerpts and this bisnatch is crazy, accusing people of things that make no sense, like Michelle Obama being racist. Can't wait until they pay Bristol's way to the top of Dancing with the Stars, because teen pregnancy is only cute if you're Palin's daughter. You even get a commercial. Also, can't wait until the increasingly uneducated public votes her into office so then I really have no more hope, and really will be forced to move.

    What a joke!

Omg, just reading that small excerpt reminded me why I can't stand Palin. A whole paragraph to say absolutely nothing?

She is so full of herself...."I give America to my children....your children"....she really rates herself pretty high huh?

Why does sarah palin talk about others in this book? She needs to back up and teach her children how to live and let live. Bristol can not dance, she is not a "star", so talk talk about that sarah. Bristol looks like a broom being pushed around the dance floor. By the way, sarah, National Geographic has already shown the world ALASKA. For Real

I know alaska is technically part of the USA but c'mon... she's giving america to my kids??? "when we where free"??? this wacko in now way is america, alaska is on the fringe more than just geographically, is her 15 mins up yet?? cause it seems like she has gotten alot more time than any of her minimal talents justify, even as a hottie...mediocre at best!! I despise rush, beck, coulter etc but at least your dealing with intellect... twisted by hate and/or greed but still there is intelligence, this palin woman is just an idiot who didn't even complete one term as governor, please ignore this woman so that even if we disagree we can have an intelligent discussion about it..............PLEASE!!!!
