Palin delivers a gaffe-filled message

(CNN) - In a Thanksgiving message, Sarah Palin made fun of the president, herself and one of her favorite targets, the media.

Thursday's Facebook post came on the heels of a mistake she made on conservative Fox News anchor Glenn Beck's radio show earlier this week. She mistakenly referred to America's ally, North Korea instead of South Korea, a story many in the media covered quickly.

"It seems they couldn't resist the temptation to turn a simple one word slip-of-the-tongue of mine into a major political headline," Palin wrote. "The one word slip occurred yesterday during one of my seven back-to-back interviews wherein I was privileged to speak to the American public about the important, world-changing issues before us."

She said her gaffes receive more attention than those made by the president and vice president. In honor of the claimed-disparity she titled the post "A Thanksgiving Message to All 57 States," a reference to a mistake President Obama made on the campaign trail in 2008.

The former Alaska governor dedicated the first paragraph of the post to almost a dozen slips of the tongue by Obama.

"I didn't have enough time to do one for Joe Biden," she wrote.

Palin also chastised the media for creating stories "out of thin air."

"Let's hope that perhaps, just maybe, they might get it right next time. When we the people are effective in holding America's free press accountable for responsible and truthful reporting, then we shall all have even more to be thankful for!"

Well, lets see. Reporting a slip of the tongue as it is said is reporting something that is true. For me, I know that the more I speak, the more likely I am to make a mistake or slip of the tongue. It might help if she just shut up and listened more.

Everybody makes mistakes; the media make too much of misstatements. The difference between Palin and President Obama is this: President Obama doesn't go on Facebook or Twitter and whine about how much pressure he's under or that everybody is making fun of him.

The more this woman whines, the more I'm convinced she can't take pressure - which was proven by the fact that she quit her job as governor when the going got too tough. She'll never run; she's got too good a thing going now raking in the dough as a professional critic with no real responsibilities.

How can anyone who collects a paycheck from Faux News complain about "the press" not being accountable and truthful?
What a joke this woman is. I can't understand why the mainstream media (Faux News excluded) keeps this woman in the spotlight and reports on everything she says and does. If anything she should be praising the media , not whinning about how they treat her.

Palin is obsessed with her resentments, her anger, her bitterness, the slights against her whether real or imagined. The last time we had a president like this is Richard Nixon. Whatever you think of his presidency, those traits consumed him, destroyed his presidency, and damaged the nation. Elect Palin and the same thing will happen. I can't imagine that Palin could occupy the White House and not use the power of the presidency to get revenge on her enemies, just like Nixon.

Palin is nothing but a joke. She practically writes the monologues for the late night talk shows all on her own.

Why can't this Bitter Quitter from Wasilla enjoy Thanksgiving without having her ghostwriter post another snarky comment on her Facebook page? Jeez, give it a rest, why don't you! Ms. Half-Governor has such a thin skin she feels she must reply to every comment anybody, anywhere, makes about her. No point in running for office, Failin' Palin....if you can't take the heat, go back to Alaska!

I'll betcha she didn't find any of those herself – had to depend on people with brains to do the job.

If this was her message on Thanksgiving Day, one can conclude that she has nothing to be thankful for. And by the way, who spend Thanksgiving Day bickering and picking fights? She is either seeking attention or... I give up on this woman.

palin put herself out in the public so she should expect to be criticized...look at the way she attacks the president and first lady. she attacks their every word ...so if she wants to be compared to them she should stop complaining.

Is still amazes me that she thinks herself on the level of a President. She shows no respect for the office nor to anyone in public service. She quit her elected office and left the people she swore to serve. I'm really tired of all the coverage the media gives to her every word. Does she ever have anything positive to say? Ever? Furthermore, does she ever get tired of playing the victim? Sheesh.

The media is like a bunch of vultures with constant circleing and looking for something that could hurt to report. Just sic the media on Obama and his promise of hope and change/ How well we know this fee ass co turned out and what a turn about and all the damage to our liberties this obama guy has caused and done. Check out his birth cert. Who put him thru college and ect? Well the multbillionare George S bought and paid for this guy and the teleprompter puppet is his mouth piece and little else. Oh he bows to the union thugs also. Also passed a 2500 page (ie health care bill) under cover of no C spand and no Republican present. This is a 100% democrat fiasco. Now mabe that they lost 63 seats in the house because we the people (Sara represents) are feed up with the entitlements that the Democrats are dishing out.The media has lots of smoke and mirrors and can not be trusted if it is your liberties that your want to keep and are worried about. So much for the north/south korea slip. She don't use a teleprompter you see and she is nobody's puppet. She is for real and many
liberals are craping their shorts along with a Bunch of RINOS. The Tea Party will either straighten out the Republican Party or get rid of it. It is time for their leadership to represent WE THE PEOPLE

Palin: "When we the people are effective in holding America's free press accountable for responsible and truthful reporting, then we shall all have even more to be thankful for!"

1984's Newspeak has arrived when a Fox news commentator makes such as assertion in all sincerity. Oh, wait, I forgot, Fox isn't part of "America's free press," but the GOP's propaganda machine.

The media is too easy on Palin. She is the most divisive political figure we've seen in decades. She's rude, crude and the fact that she's clearly not book smart or street smart is an insult to the American people. She's the Lindsay Lohan of the Republican Party.

As the saying goes, it's not the falling off that matters but how one gets back on the horse – Palin shows the full force of her immaturity as both an individual and leader. Yes, Obama and others have made verbal slips - but they did not lash out on Facebook. And, Palin did so on a national day of thanks. Appalling.

for crying out loud...for someone who's supposed to be sooooo tough, she LOVES playing the perpetual victim.
I am tired of hearing her whining and complaining about the media attention she craves for, then rebukes.

in her eyes, the media is "biased" because they actually report all the news, including what she doesn't agree with (unlike Fox News, which is like relaxation tapes for Conservatives- just soothingly feeding them EXACTLY what they want to hear)...

thank goodness she will NEVER be President...
