Palin delivers a gaffe-filled message

(CNN) - In a Thanksgiving message, Sarah Palin made fun of the president, herself and one of her favorite targets, the media.

Thursday's Facebook post came on the heels of a mistake she made on conservative Fox News anchor Glenn Beck's radio show earlier this week. She mistakenly referred to America's ally, North Korea instead of South Korea, a story many in the media covered quickly.

"It seems they couldn't resist the temptation to turn a simple one word slip-of-the-tongue of mine into a major political headline," Palin wrote. "The one word slip occurred yesterday during one of my seven back-to-back interviews wherein I was privileged to speak to the American public about the important, world-changing issues before us."

She said her gaffes receive more attention than those made by the president and vice president. In honor of the claimed-disparity she titled the post "A Thanksgiving Message to All 57 States," a reference to a mistake President Obama made on the campaign trail in 2008.

The former Alaska governor dedicated the first paragraph of the post to almost a dozen slips of the tongue by Obama.

"I didn't have enough time to do one for Joe Biden," she wrote.

Palin also chastised the media for creating stories "out of thin air."

"Let's hope that perhaps, just maybe, they might get it right next time. When we the people are effective in holding America's free press accountable for responsible and truthful reporting, then we shall all have even more to be thankful for!"

Her entire post was only one paragraph. Why didn't you print the whole thing in this article, CNN? Careful editing? She was talking about media bias, you know it, and this article is entitled "gaffe filled message" in hopes everyone will read the headline and move on. Will you all ever get it?!

CNN and the other news organizations have proven once again that the American public is right. We no longer have a free press. The press is in the tank for whomever their leaders say they are. It would be nice if the Free Press were actually free and reporting news rather than whether or not Sarah Plain slipped up speaking. If they were so interested in tongue slip ups, they would be all over Joe Biden, but you rarely hear a word about him. CNN is not a true news organization any more than FOX and MSNBC are. Simply puppets at the hand of their masters.

Is there every a time when Sarah Palin will take responsibility for her words/actions, rather than continuously blaming them on an outside force?

Will Sarah Palin take responsibility for her own ignorance? Anyone who is remotely familiar with this conflict would never make a mistake like that. What on earth is on this woman's mind?

Sarah, this was no ordinary slip of the tongue so don't try to downplay it. It goes to show how clueless you are. The more you open your mouth, the more we get evidence that you've got vacuum between your ears.

Sarah, please run for POTUS in 2012. I want to have a laugh every singe day. It's suppose to be healthy.

Maybe if McCain had chosen someone other than this dingus she wouldn't have to focus on errors Obama has made.

Yes, we get it, Sarah. I don't have a contract with you so I don't have to preface your name with Governor. Neither does AK.
Now, back to the at-hand. First, I knew that "a slip of the tongue" would be the defense for saying North Korea vice South. Understand. What you don't understand is that based on your previous handling of geo-political topics, you have shown noticeable ignorance. As a result, we tend to believe that yet again, you are intellectually disengaged. You may have some folks fooled (Shown by your bulging pockets. How do you have credibility? Damn.), but for anyone with half a brain, we know that you are an opportunist, (albeit a rich one now) a motivational speaker and a champion to the hateful. Folks who buy that "grizzly", constitutional stuff you sell, really should spend some time paying attention to who they are listening to...not looking at.

She works for Fox News so she cannot say, "When we the people are effective in holding America's free press accountable for responsible and truthful reporting, then we shall all have even more to be thankful for!"

Or maybe she doesn't think Fox news is considered "free press".

It is extremely sad that Ms. Palin could not even set aside Thanksgiving Day as a reprieve from her whining about the media. Are you not thankful for anything, Ms. Palin, except your 15 minutes of fame? Be thankful that we have a free press and that you have the right to go out and say the things you do, insane though a lot of them are. Although it appears Ms. Palin couldn't find much time for being thankful, hope everyone else had a very happy Thanksgiving Day.

Palin is so narcissistic. She covets media attention constantly and a media-crazy environment is more than happy to oblige.

Look - when you become a highly mocked caricature of yourself on Saturday Night Live, you're done. This Bush-ian approach of a "common sense" person that's likable doesn't cut it.

Sorry "Mamma Grizzly" doesn't cut it either. I want someone with intelligence, education, and also political background in the number one post in the country. She is mentally out of her element. It takes a lifetime of preparation, education, and experience to become the President.

Not just anyone is suitable. This isn't a popularity contest or some kind of show.

    This is serious.

She's not qualified and never will be!

It would be one thing if it was an occasional slip of the tongue......but it's constant and takes away from her credibility and certainly makes it scary to think she wants to be president!!! Honestly......Mrs. Bush was right.....please do us all a favor and stay in Alaska......far far FAR away from Washington DC.

Okay, it is not "a simple one word slip-of-the-tongue" to call North Korea our ally during a very turbulent time with them that may lead to war! It is true that everyone makes mistakes but this is a HUGE gaffe regardless of how many back-to-back interviews she had that day. If she was elected president, does she think her days will be filled with "huntin' and fishin'"??? She would be busier than she could ever imagine and then a gaffe like this could cause extreme damage!!! Please stop the excuses and hold yourself accountable Sarah as you would have "we the people" hold the press accountable.

Beautiful... 'Hey, I am not the only one that makes mistakes!'
No, ma'am, you're not. But they (Obama and Biden) usually turn their mistakes or slips of the tongue, when they happen, into jokes that they can laugh about as well. Instead of the kindergarten's answer: 'But they did too!'.

One would hope a potential candidate for high office would not be so thin skinned. Of course, that's assuming she is a potential candidate for high office. If Palin's real aim is to keep her name in the news to help her make even more money–well, this is just what she'd be doing.

I think it is time for tha mainstream media to give Sarah a chance. Everyone has one time or the other gaffe, that is the norms of the present politicians. No body is above mistake, mostly, when you are facing the press of the media,
I belief women are as strong as anything, never you underestemate the power of women.

The problem with Palin is she doesn't know they're wrong or "slips of the tongue" until her advisors tell her afterwards.
