Rove calls Palin move 'smart'

(CNN) - Karl Rove, also known as "the architect" of George W. Bush's presidential campaigns, is calling Sarah Palin's upcoming Iowa book stops "a smart thing to do."

"That's a pretty smart move if you're thinking about running for president," Rove said Friday on Fox News.

The former Alaska governor on Saturday will make the first of two stops in Iowa, the site of the first presidential primary contest, to promote her new book "America by Heart."

Rove, who served as Deputy Chief of Staff under former President Bush, said the new book "gives her an excuse to be there as something other than a candidate, which is really important."

Bush won the Iowa caucus in 2000 and 2004, and Rove said Hawkeye State residents are not likely to support a candidate based on campaign ads or celebrity.

"One of the keys for Iowa is they want to see you up close and personal," Rove said. "They may want to see you several times before they decide whether or not they'll support you in the caucuses."

But Rove also acknowledged that this is just the beginning of the long run for the White House.

"She's got a problem with independents and a problem with Democrats," Rove said. "Over the course of the next year, like all of the Republican candidates, she's got to demonstrate that she's got an ability to unify the Republicans and reach outside the Republican ranks."

Palin is currently on a 16-stop book tour that ends December 3 with a visit to South Carolina, another important state for potential candidates in 2012.

Some of these comments are pathetic. As a Republican I think Sarah Palin is great. I don't see how she could possibly run for President though. She would be very hard to take seriously. The problem with President G W Bush was that liberals couldn't believe a Republican would actually be better educated than them. The man is brilliant. He got better grades than John Kerry at Harvard. So to continue to see liberals bash Bush is really funny. I think Palin is being used as a distraction until a real candidate emerges.

I LOVE IT! The LOONEY LEFT gets their jollies off attacking those who know and live by the truth. Common sense and patriotic duty mean nothing to these has beens. They had the reins just long enough for the nation so see just what their intentions were. Take you sad sack of a leader, OBUMBLE. and head back to the rocks and walls you came from.

Please, PLEASE nominate Palin in 2012! It will make the election that much easier of a landslide victory for Obama!

My biggest problem with Palin, other than her lack of any ideas of her own, is her insistence that only small-town or rural conservatives are 'real Americans.' Considering that 80% of America is urbanized (not that Palin has the capability to comprehend that 80% is a vast majority) I do feel that she represents only a small portion of the population, and alienates the rest of America. Those living in cities and suburbs are real Americans too! They also work hard, love their families, go to Church, and many of them also take trips to the great outdoors. And that too is real! And they too love America!

"That's a pretty smart move if you're thinking about running for president."

Problem for Palin is that the move comes with a body-temperature IQ and a mediocre streak a mile long. She has as much chance of getting into the White House as John McSame, and he wasn't even qualified for the post because he is a statutory citizen, not a natural-born citizen. The only post Palin can fill in the WH is that of keeper of the Monica Mask, but she has to live under the Oval Office desk to qualify.

CNN commentators always seem to underestimate Palin. She is not stupid, and name calling will not stop her. She is at least as clever and cunning and vicious as any of her opponents. She knows nothing of history or geography; nor does she need to. (Her devoted audience, which is very large, is equally uninformed.) She will need a bizarre and unfortunate twist of events to get elected, but I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up bull-rushing the Republican party into getting the nomination.

Well now, isn't that a surprise! A few weeks ago, Rove said that Palin lacked the 'gravitas' (his own words) to be President. Now, Rove is doing the old back peddle by saying Palin's latest ghost written book tour is a very smart thing for anyone running for President to do. What's really scary about this scenario is that a powerful influence such as Rove, had to go from a lack of 'gravitas' to someone making smart moves. This horrible Palin woman apparently, is very powerful, and that is no less than terrfying!

If Palin runs, it's a slam dunk for the democrats. She will totally disrupt the republican party and make all her supporters look like idiots. Don't be fooled by her again, she is making money off any and everyone. Remember the Sarah Palin who did not want her family in the spot light....yeah right!!!!! Thanks John M, for this scientific experiment gone awry and by the way John, what publications do you read or is this a trick question

Has anyone noticed how Palin drags her young son around like a rag doll?...That is so pathetic to use him like that. On stage...with blaring speakers...I think CHILD WELFARE services should take a good look at this. I don't think he is in a good enviorment....and she is endangering him if something was to happen...just to advance her HUGE ego...

I find Rove as repulsive as Palin. Pure grubs...the GOP loves them. They care nothing about this country except living off contributions(books and fund raising) from people that are as stupid who will gladly hand them their money.

Wake up America to this type of stupidily.

To: Four Ann The Door – The North Koreans lampoon everyone regardless of party affiliation. Why didn't you post the comments on "W?" Or better yet, their assessment of Condi Rice? Maybe, because for once, they were true? I'll bet you this – if Kim Jong Il twitches, Obama/Clinton will erase them, quickly! You don't really think the George Washington is the only ship in the area, do you? 5 'ill get you ten, we have at least "two boomers in the box" on each side of the peninsula waiting for "Bad Hair Day" to make another mistake – and don't think the Chinese don't know it, either!

Remember this right-wing swiftie, for all your party's bluster, a Democrat authorized the A-bomb and another one utilized it. Your party talks the talk (all the time) but won't walk the walk – ever!

I truly hope this great country cares about what is happening in the insane political environment. Have we lost a course of direction? It seems both the House and Senate is interested only in their financial careers.

Karl Rove, The Adolph Eichmann of the Republican Party, has decided that it is better for his career to go along with the pack of lemmings who think Palin has a chance, than to correctly predict that Palin will destroy the repubs in '12.

Forget the political stuff. Does she have the smarts to be The President of the United States.......... the answer to this is a resounding...NO! Sarah Palin is simply not prepared to be the President in any way. She may be able to unify the Republicans with the Tea Party folks, but is she capable of dealing with China, North Korea, the EU, Iran etc., in order to serve the interests of the USA? The answer to this question is also ..... NO! Why is she getting so much press???!!! The press should forget about this person. She is not a viable candidate for 2012 or any other year.

These Republican fools just aren't too bright. They keep wanting us to vote for ignorant, dangeous, uniformed, mentally deranged idiots like Palin. If you haven't learned by now, that you cannot present this type of trash to the American people and WIN! If you don't like Presdient Obama, well just make him a 2 term President by having Palin run against him! Stupid, stupid, people! And Rove makes me sick just to look at him. He does look like Beck. All white, bloated, ugly and sweaty looking! YUCK!!

Someone had better tell Palin what the salary is of the president and the fact that he/she is billed for dry cleaning, food etc., which must come out of that salary.

Sarah Palin is an employee of Rupert Murdoch so she says and does what he says. If he wants her to get the nomination she will. Murdoch controlls the Republican party, not Carl Rove anymore.

i love all these people that say shes dumb, shes stupid, shes part of the tea party, shes offensive,i dont like her voice,etc.etc.etc.but if she is so unimportant why do you keep going on and on and on.if you disagree with her thats alright.but the thing i find fascinating is she does not pass any laws, she cant raise your taxes, she cant shove healthcare down your throat, she hasnt sent more young men and women to war.i think you need to direct your anger at the ones who are screwing up our country.how many people has she put out of work?how many trillions of dollars in debt has she put this country in?lets sit down and have a adult discussion about things that really matter.lets leave the name calling and children bashing out of it.
