Washington (CNN) – A U.S. Senator is calling for permanent U.S. presence in Afghanistan.

Graham is a nut case and should be impeached. Remove all troops from Middle East. Surrounding countries have enough arms to take care of any problem.

    Another Republican right wing nutcase!

What we really ought to do is eliminate some 50% of our military bases, with specific emphasis on those in foreign countries already with more than one or two. We're not the word's enforcer people. If we were, we miserably failed.

I love Parker/Spitzer on CNN. Eliot Spitzer is fantastic for his direct statements relative to his guests and their posture/stand on issues. For example, this evening while interviewing Sen. Lindsey Graham. Spitzer was excellent in his questions to Sen. Graham. Eliot is great and Kathleen is equally inquisitive in her questioning and comments with guests. I love this program and hopes it stays on CNN.

Governor Spitzer.....I don't always agree with you, but i am so proud of you for your handling of Senator Lindsey Graham and his wanting permanent bases in Afganistan (sp)......You need to run for President or Senate. We desparately need someone with some intelligence in Washington D>C> What a bunch of idiots running our government!

ONLY after we get START, unemployment extension, taxes back to 2000 for over %1 million a year, and DADT passed, AND McPamper locked up in an old people's home for alzheimers..

Deal with it. We can't afford everything the republicans "WANT". Our country needs nuclear safety, jobs here in the USA, and fewer ignorant republicans in Washington, DC.

Republicans, how is the permanent base going to be paid for? Hypocrites! Jesus had words for you (Matt. 23). You design the outward appearance of corpse, while stinking on the inside.

Well as long as Graham wears the uniform and mans the base himself, I'm all for it :)

It would NOT benefit us. It would be a collosal waste of money and armed service resources.

Why do Republicans think we need to occupy every country? Aren't we helping to train their security forces so we can get the hell out?

I have an idea. Let's send all Republican politicians and pundits to Afghanistan indefinitely?

Let's hope this warmonger gets defeated. Although the GOP nut jobs in SC will probably elect someone even worse.

Lindsey Graham needs to explain how he's going to pay for it. Journalist should tear into him till he explains how he'll fund it

Ok... Put your money where your mouth is! Where is the funding for this going to come from?

When will Lindsey Graham move to afghanistan to do his fair share of work, kill or be kill, he can do it. He do not look like the type to hold a gun much let fight. I think Senator Graham should head up those US Bases. I think he should go over there and spend 4 years.....even though he wouldn't last 1 weeks and then tell us WHY IN THE HELL WE ARE THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE. I think he should be the one to notify the parents of fallen soldiers that their child is dead. Do you think he would change his tune? How many children do Graham have over there now?
