(CNN) - In a battle between former President George W. Bush and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Bush comes out on top.
His memoir "Decision Points" has maintained its number one spot on the New York Times hardcover nonfiction bestseller list for the third week in a row, leaving Palin's new book, "America by Heart" second on the list released this weekend.
Both politicos have toured the country promoting their books. Bush has appeared on nearly every major television channel and Palin is in the midst of a 16-stop national book tour.
Palin's publisher, Harper Collins would not release sales figures, but did say they have printed 1 million copies of her new book. The former 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee's first book, "Going Rogue" sold well over 2 million copies and was number one on the New York Times list for six consecutive weeks.
According Random House, Bush's publisher, almost 2.5 million copies of his book are currently in print. Sales of the book now total 1.5 million copies when hardcover, e-book, audio books, large print editions and export edition sales are included.
But there don't seem to be any hard feelings on Palin's part for her number two book status. She tweeted Thursday saying, "just heard America By Heart is #2 NYT bestseller list behind Pres.Bush's good book, so thanks for sharing inspiration."

Are there two faces more representative of the decline of America?
I support my President…but I did acquire President Bush’s memoir, because I want to read into how he came to these decisions; many of which proved so detrimental to the nation and its image abroad. But more importantly I want an insight into the man, who by most accounts should not have been put into the position of making these tough decisions in the first place.
Sarah Palin, however, I wouldn’t use her book as toilet tissue. She is a bigot, a racist and a coward. How long will her handlers hide her undying stupidity from the public and the media? Who needs any more meaningless, unintelligent manure from her mouth or from the person who actually wrote her pseudo-patriotic ‘Whites Only’ rag.
Go "Dubya" go! You are born again in politics. You have proved to be one of those who die and come to earth and breath again.
On the queen of Alaska side, this proved that people always reward those who fight and stick to their jobs according to the Office Oath they take. Dubya did it but Sarah you didn't, you broke it and don't expect any reward at all!

I don't have any problem with people putting out books with their own take on things. I do hope that if she wants to continue on the national stage, she knows that there is a difference between fact, as an What Really Happened, and opinion and interpretation. I'm not saying that any human can actually write What Really Happened, but rather that any accounting IS, by definition, an interpretation.
They are #1 & #2 in what's bad for the USA.
I am fan of neither. But if I had to buy a book, I would buy Bush's. At least he has something to say with his 8 years in WH. I am not sure what I need to learn from someone who quit her job without finishing her term.

Considering McCain's increasingly noticeable dementia, it is just as well that Palin is off on a book tour far, far away from that whole *stuffy politics* thingy she dispises so much.
