(CNN) - In a battle between former President George W. Bush and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, Bush comes out on top.
His memoir "Decision Points" has maintained its number one spot on the New York Times hardcover nonfiction bestseller list for the third week in a row, leaving Palin's new book, "America by Heart" second on the list released this weekend.
Both politicos have toured the country promoting their books. Bush has appeared on nearly every major television channel and Palin is in the midst of a 16-stop national book tour.
Palin's publisher, Harper Collins would not release sales figures, but did say they have printed 1 million copies of her new book. The former 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee's first book, "Going Rogue" sold well over 2 million copies and was number one on the New York Times list for six consecutive weeks.
According Random House, Bush's publisher, almost 2.5 million copies of his book are currently in print. Sales of the book now total 1.5 million copies when hardcover, e-book, audio books, large print editions and export edition sales are included.
But there don't seem to be any hard feelings on Palin's part for her number two book status. She tweeted Thursday saying, "just heard America By Heart is #2 NYT bestseller list behind Pres.Bush's good book, so thanks for sharing inspiration."
Palin makes Bush look like a genius; and that's saying a lot.
Bush or Palin – it's like a contest between Albert Einstein and Johan Von Neumann.
Dumb and Dumber, the book!
I can't believe I'd say this, but as a Democrat I'd vote for George over Palin.
She's a kook with a big mouth and no mind.
I guess he had more crayons in his book.
Why are their books on the nonfiction list? Somebody made a mistake there....
Green Eggs and Ham was a great read too.
Oh, thank you CNN! I was already worrying for days about the question Bush or Palin. I am so glad you could shed some light on this with your in depth analyses on this question the world is keeping its breath to find out. You understand us. We and real news??? No, no, just keeps this crap, oh, please pardon me, I meant this wonderful reporting coming. I can see your ratings going up sky-high and Fox viewers whisper: “Don’t tell Limbaugh, but for the juiciest news go to CNN!” Again, thank you, thank you, thank you!
Your incessant coverage of Palin is as irritating as your DADT coverage. Way too much......
George Bush represents all the reasons why the United States of America can not afford to have Sarah Palin as President. Let's consider that as our lesson about electing the "good old boys" to run the country. Nice looking, affable, just not enough upstairs to run a country striving remain the leader of the free world. As a result, they surround themselves with undoubtedly smart people, but those with their own unfortunate agenda. Chaney indicted in Spain for torture and in Nigeria for Halliberton's shady business practices? Just sayin'!
there they are. Your looking at them. Both right there in front of you. Two of the most dispicable and slimey creatures ever to draw breath in american politics.
There is not a single redeeming quality about either of these two creeps.
But heck...buy their books
I don't read comic books.
Just goes to show there's a sucker born every minute. Neither of them could actually write their own book without a ghost writer doing it for them. It never ceases to amaze me how these two dullards continue to appeal to people. They are both born liars.
I can't believe there are that many people stupid enough to buy books from either of these "authors" for anything other than the comedic value.
Yup, they're duking it out! Come on CNN......stop competing with The National Enquirer.
The unemployment rate is now at 9.8. Neither Bush nor Palin are in charge of anything. Instead of focusing on the real problem – those who ARE in power and their policies – let's gather 'round and rant about Bush and Palin.
At least that other network (where you have to go to get the rest of the story) doesn't pretend to be impartial.
Dumb versus Dumber... you be the judge of who's who.
Clash of the titans! Complete with mythologic
I'm not a Bush fan by any stretch of the imagination, but at least he has something to write about. The airhead, she's not nothing more than riling dim-witted people. I find her book's success mind-boggling.
dumb and dumber
So what? And really is it any surprise, the man was actually a president (like him or not). Whereas Palin is a governor who quit.
Funny - at our local bookstores, Palin's book is marked down to move at 50% off. This is how we judge our books, of course: units moved.
Since Bush couldn't string a sentence together, how did he write a book?
Who really cares? At least Bush has some accomplishments to write about and he is capable of speaking in complete sentences.
Hurry up and buy that Bush book this year Republicans, so Bush can take advantage of his tax break this year!
