Trump 'really thinking' about prez bid

(CNN) – Let’s get one thing straight: Donald Trump doesn’t want to run for president. Honestly, he doesn’t. Not interested.

But because the country is in such dire straits, he says, the business tycoon and perennial publicity hound just might have no choice. The country needs him.

“For the first time really would think about it. And I am thinking about it. It doesn’t mean I want to do it. I’d prefer not doing it. I’m having a lot of fun doing what I’m doing. It’s a great time to be buying things. I’m buying a lot of things and really having a good time,” Trump told Joy Behar Wednesday on HLN, CNN’s sister network.

“But I hate - you know, I’m very proud of this country. I’m very proud to be an American. And frankly, I hate what I’m seeing. I hate that friends of mine from Europe, from Asia, from all over the world - they’re telling me stories about this country,” the reality television host lamented.

Trump said President Obama particularly embarrassed America when he traveled to Copenhagen a year ago in a failed last-minute bid to secure the 2016 summer Olympics for Chicago.

“Our President flies over to see if he can get the bid. Now, he then comes back. We don’t end up not only in first place. We don’t end up in second place or third place. We were in fourth place,” said Trump.
“Now, for the president of this great country to fly over there, he has to be given a wink. Like, come over, we’d love to have you. And you’re going to get it. I mean, do you know how bad we looked?”

Ultimately, it all comes down to respect for Trump:

“That shouldn’t be happening to this country. People are not respecting us. They are not respecting this country. And I hate to see it.”

Trump said earlier this year he will decide on a presidential run by June.

Another thing, does Trump think it's a smart idea to go on and on about buying stuff, which I am sure is expensive property, while many Americans can barely afford to buy food to feed their families. what a tool.

I think I would actually vote for him. Beats all the other knuckleheads out there with absolutely no business experience. THE LAST THING WE NEED IS ANOTHER IDEOLOGICAL LAWYER.

Trump will leave America bankrupt like his Atlantic City casinos. It would be a total failure... again.

    Thanks but no thanks.

Of all the reasons Trump could give for wanting to run for president, the only one he can come up with for the interview is that we didn't get the Olympics???? Really?? And people think Obama is an idiot ...

Trump is an idiot if he thinks that American prestige has suffered due to President Obama. He's an even bigger idiot if he thinks that American needs a publicity hound with a bad comb over as President.

Those of us in the New York area know Donald Trump doesn't do anything that doesn't benefit "the Donald" in a big way. A run for president because we lost an Olympic bid? Seriously? I was just in Europe two weeks ago and the people I talked to like Obama and think we're not giving him enough time to get anything done. What they don't like about America is our lead role in the global economic melt down and the wealthy guys like Trump who made themselves big money during the run-up. Donald's "friends" are probably blame America for the decreased value of their third and fourth Villas that they bought 5 years ago. Booo Hoo.

I hope he runs-we need someone with a set of balls in the White House and someone that won't go around the world and partake in an apology tour.

"That shouldn’t be happening to this country. People are not respecting us. They are not respecting this country. And I hate to see it.”

Look here Mr. Toupee, after 8 years of George W. Bush destroying our image abroad, I'm not shocked we didn't get the Olympics. We just recently tried to get the World Cup and lost that as well, and the President had nothing to do with that. You're just an Obama hater.

I agree with the Donald. This country is losing respect. And it is embarrassing.

I'd vote for him. I support the Democratic party and I supported Mr. Obama. But the Republicans have made him look like an idiot while accomplishing nothing themselves. This country can't take anymore partisan rhetoric, and frankly, we should be protesting in the streets, but nobody has time. Heck, Trump's gotta be better than Palin or anyone else the Democrats could come up with. At least Trump understands that we are being laughed at as a nation.

Well Mr. Trump how do you feel about the taxes for the rich staying the same...?

Go for it Donald, you won't make it to the first debate. Once you get out of your comfy little protected world where everyone is a DT fan and thinks you're God, you'll find out that the rest of the Country doesn't feel that way. Being a real estate tycoon is like falling off a log - it doesn't take smarts and you don't have to have solutions to anything. You just have to have money and patience.

The dude may know is stuff from the business standpoint, but he's sorely lacking the broad skillset needed to be president. America elected a 1-trick pony in 2008 and look how well THAT worked out.

And he never stops to wonder "WHY" the world does not respect us? It is not because we came in fourth for the Olympic bid, (which was not choosen by anything the preident actually does) but because to the 8 years of the Bush disasters that fools like Trump support.

Of course he is having a good time, the republicans watch out for the milionairs of this country. Trump is a clown.

The business people will love a corrupt man like you – but sorry not the American people. Trump only hits Obama because of all the business regulations this President is legislated and passed.

Unfortunately Mr. Trump that is not why we are being laughed at. It is the Bush administration and the current retarded party on the right that has done this. We will never be respected again until the leaders of this country learn to respect this country and stop treating it like a money tree for big business who take everything we have a ship it overseas. If you can not stand up place the blame on the correct people point out the failures and then give a strong plan for recovery you should stay in the realty show business and make useless shows for the under informed republicans who fork over their money, jobs and liberties to a bunch of thieves known as Congress and the Senate.

So this is what it takes! The president could not go honestly as a citizen of the united states that happens to be from the city that was in contention and also elected to run the best country in the world. No, that is not enough. He only should go if he gets the "wink." What kind of crap is this? More of the same 'business as usual' from someone used to 'winking' as a form of getting something done as opposed to honestly trying to do something good for the country? So it is Obama's fault that the Olympic committee decided to choose another country. This is based on what assumptions, Mr. Trump? That the president somehow is an embarrassment to this country, to you? Why is that? Did he not do something he should have done? What are your European and Asian friends telling you about this president that makes you think he is an embarrassment? The words of leaders or rich people from 'another country?' That is rich!
