White House remains confident on taxes

(CNN) - The White House remains confident "that the major components" of a tax compromise struck by the president and Republicans will pass, a White House spokeswoman said Thursday. She spoke after House Democrats voted not to bring the tax package up for a vote in its current form.

Those who are opposed to the deal you can do two things: (1) don't vote for Obama in 2012 and (2) don't take the tax cuts that are coming your way. I, as a support of the president, small business owner, and citizen...I will take the deal and the tax cuts. You forget to mention that the Dem. had a chance to vote on the tax cuts before Nov. elections...what they do? They passed because they were afraid the issue would be against them during the election. Now they are angry...please give me a break. The deal is not perfect and it will help Am. citizens and our economy....if you want a fight, then tell the Dem. not to be afraid next time.

I don't think no body really why they voted for the president, I think most people did it for a different reason. I truly believe that the a lot of people thought he could change things around but when he did they found out they did not like the change. Some thought that they could turn him in to a yes man to do what they say do.

Now those who didn't want him because of his skin color and those who have found out that they cannot control him is working with each other but hurting themselves in the process.

If this bill get to be revisied again it will leave out all the good things that the president had included in it and they will end up giving the republicans more than they received from the president. Why because that is how backwards the demo are. They know they have to have this settle before the end of the year or it will be more worst next year.

The demo wanted a fight why didn't they do their fighting months ago when they really had more room to play around with, now they don't have any room. We have millions of people unemployed due to no fault of their own who benefits are going to end just to please some spoil children to say we won. Everything has a give and take but when they revisied it will be more giving to the republicans and taking away from the american people.

They upset because the president did this without them, well those are probably the same ones who distances themselves from him during the midterm elections. So I don't blame the president and he has to do what he feels is right. This could be a good thing for the republicans to get what they want because if they do from now on out they will have to explain to their followers why they should cut anything when they got what they wanted in the tax debate. This is what is going to take to wake people up and realize what they elected to office was people who only cared for themselves. Sometimes to win at something, you have to let the other party think they have won when they actually didn't.

Obama’s lofty goals of Bi partisan co-operation is and has been delusional. The Republicans really don’t have to do a damn thing and win. All they have to do is keep the President from getting anything done and he will look like a failed leader.

The republicans have a strategy to just keep the Bush tax cuts for themselves alive for two years and when they take back the White House in two years they make them permanent..

The Republicans operate like the Mafia, stay single minded and make no compromises.

You have to operate like President Johnson did, do what is necessary even if you have to carry a symbolic baseball bat..
