Palin disses Michelle Obama over 'dessert'

(CNN) – Sarah Palin is again taking aim at Michelle Obama over her anti-obesity campaign, taking the opportunity in Sunday's "Sarah Palin's Alaska" to land a diss against the first lady's efforts to improve nutrition.

While making s'mores at one point during Sunday's episode, the former Alaska governor proclaims the marshmallow and chocolate treat is "in honor of Michelle Obama, who said the other day we should not have dessert."

It's not the first time Palin has taken a jab at Mrs. Obama over her campaign to discourage fattening foods, especially from public schools. The former vice presidential nominee told conservative talk radio host Laura Ingraham last month that "the first lady cannot trust parents to make decisions for their own children, for their own families in what we should eat."

Palin also hand-delivered cookies to a Pennsylvania school last month before delivering a speech there, saying: "Who should be deciding what I eat? Should it be government or should it be parents? It should be the parents."

Palin's comments Sunday appear to be in reference to a speech Michelle Obama delivered in July, during which she described her own upbringing when it came to food and exercise.

"In the afternoon, there was no way we'd be allowed to lie around the house watching TV," she told the NAACP in a Kansas City speech. "Our parents made us get up and play outside."

"As I tell my kids, dessert is not a right," she added.

Tell the Danalai Ditz to crawl back into the hole she came out of. Fighting childhood obesity and early onset diabetes are worthwhile and laudible goals. When Palin accomplishes anything besides quitting and showing what a bunch of buffoons the right is she can talk, although why anyone would listen is beyond me. Leave the first lady out of your partisan bullshit because if anyone is fair game it's Todd and Bristol. You remember Todd the Union member fisherman who must have cut his testicles off in a cleaning accident because any Union member that would back this idiot deserves to have to listen to the voice without a damn thing of substance to say. (I thought John McCain should have had his balls cut of for nomnating her but by his recent party line votes shows me he really doesn't have any balls, maverick my ass!) B Palin and her abstinance commercial with the situation was quite successful as well since I didn't see any reason to keep that gene pool going. If it wasn't for the government building a pipeline in Alaska and funnelling huge dollars up there under Republican regimes we wouldn't have to listen to this moron. Get government out of Alaska today.

Can Palin's statements be any more of a window into just how clueless she really is? How can she ask if the government should decide what we eat. They DO IT ALREADY by limiting the number of poisons in food to putting the reccomended daily allowances of vitamins on food packages. Considering for many families (too many in my opinion) the school breakfast and / or lunch is the majority of their children's food intake, the government SHOULD ensure that what they eat is healthy. If she is the 2012 Republican Nominee, it will be a low point in american history.

What a disgusting person Palin is. She is totaly distorting what Mrs.Obama is trying to do. Her ratings will continue to plummet but she doesn't care. She's making alot of money and is just another Ann Coulter wacko.

For someone who's always whining about "haters" Palin's constantly on the attack. Anything and anyone is fair game with her. So negative. Can she not acknowledge even the slightest humanity or goodwill in the people she disagrees with politically? The more she talks, the less I like her. Enough.

This just goes to show the immaturity or dear I say the stupidity of Sarah Palin. As a so called mother of a child with a disability to make such a silly gesture at such a serious topic is beyond the scope of reasoning.
Anyone supporting this kind of nonsensical approach to a serious subject speaks loud volumes about the tea party.

Nothing like try to under mind the good Michelle Obama is trying to do. Its not about not having dessert. Its about balance of diet and exercise. Sure wish Palin would drop out of sight.

Is this Palin's 2012 plan. Attack Michelle about food? Pretty weak plan.

I get difficulties to understand whether Sarah understands why we sent our kids to school!! Is it only to learn how to read and write????? If they learn about the healthy food to eat, and also get that healthy food at school, that is a big bonus to them and to the parents who send them there! Is this a huge thing for Ms. Sarah to understand???? What kind of a person this woman is!!!

Par for the course for Palin, who knowingly and willfully misinterprets both the spirit and letter of Michelle Obama's remarks to take a juvenile jab worthy of a seventh-grader.

That this person occupies any measure of national attention is the saddest commentary on the state of the republic that I can imagine.

Palin's parents should have made her exercise her brain more often. This is the woman that hopes to be President in 2013, what a scary thought. All I have heard from Sarah is hate and discontent.

Pleeze-Time & time again Palin has issued these psudeo-challenges-this time she has no earthly idea what she is about to come up against with a person of Mrs. Obama's caliber-If she thinks Mrs. Barbara Bush or Laura is tough Mrs. Obama is Barabra Bush/Laura on steriods (to the 'nth power)

Is this lady out of her mind? Michelle Obama isn't saying what we should and should not eat, she speaks of eating in moderation, and ensuring kids have a healthy meal. If you're 200 pounds overweight, perhaps you should not be eating the Bristol meals. Look if you're happing be fat and unhealthy, good for you, but your life is worth more than that. What a ridiculous argument this lady makes. Your freedoms aren't under attack with the foods you eat. Merry Christmas Fatty.

Sarah Palin is an ignorant woman who spends most of her time lying in an effort to get more publicity (and money) for herself.

Why oh why do you continue to dutifully reprint every tweet and facebook update by the former half term Governor of Alaska. If there is anybody in this country less deserving of having a public persona I don't know who it is. Palin has accomplished less than Paris Hilton.

The leader of the 'HATERS' strikes again. Why does she feel the need to spread hate around the world? The more hate she creates the more hateful is our world. GO TO CHURCH SARAH AND LEAN SOMETHING FOR ONCE!!

Palin is a thinskinned nitwit. The First Lady advocates for a sensible healthy diet. What good parent does NOT want their children to eat sensibly? I expect more of a POTUS, and this is why I'd never vote for Palin to lead our country.
