WASHINGTON (CNN) - Saddled with legal fees and facing possible new allegations, Rep. Charles Rangel said Tuesday he has started raising funds for a trust to pay his legal expenses.
A statement from Rangel, D-New York, said the House Committee on Standards and Official Conduct authorized his fundraising for the Charles B. Rangel Legal Expense Trust.
We New Yorkers who know Harlem well realize that Rangel is an institution to his supporters. He'll raise whatever funding he needs to handle his legal points.
Loyalty works both ways. Rangel helps those who put him in office, and they will help him back.
That's how it is, and how it should be.
Anyone that would give to this guy needs their head checked. He should have been kicked out of congress and put in jail. If he had been a conservative the outcry would have been so loud something would have already been done but he's not so Pelosi and company are still trying to cover his butt.
Can Rangel stop Bloomberg from rangeling the MTA fare hike ?
