(CNN) – Despite repeated requests from journalists and citizen activists, thousands of Sarah Palin's official e-mails sent while she was governor of Alaska will remain secret – at least a little while longer.
According to the Anchorage Daily News, one of former Alaska Attorney General Dan Sullivan's final acts late last month was to delay the more-than 25,000 e-mails relating to official business sent by Palin, her husband Todd, or members of her staff while she was in office.
The delay, requested by Palin's former staff, constitutes the 14th time release of the emails has been postponed.
The Alaska attorney general is permitted by law to delay the release of the e-mails if there are logistical reasons for doing so or if he has reason to believe the e-mails would reveal sensitive information that subsequently threatens the functioning of the governor's office. Palin appointed Sullivan to his post in 2009, just a month before she resigned from office.
Palin's former staff has asked for a delay until the end of next May – a timing that just might awkwardly coincide with the beginnings of a Palin presidential campaign, should the former Alaska governor decide to run.
Requests for the e-mails were first made by several news organizations in 2008 when Palin was named to the Republican presidential ticket.
A spokesperson from the Alaska governor's office was not available for comment.

Schizophrenia is overlooked by society the moment your last name ends with Palin. Lock her up with some kind of grizzlybear.
Curious state of affairs. Why all the delays? What are they hiding?
Meh... a whole bunch of "Did you get the memo I sent out yesterday about the upcoming caribou hunt?" emails don't interest me.
yet republicans continuously scream for release of private and personal info from any and every democrat. why am i not surprised? why should i vote for any republican?
This guy is covering up for her. I'm sure at the end of May those emails will somehow be "lost".
She must be hiding something or else it wouldn't be an issue.
Where are the "birthers" asking for original documents.
I know, birthers = nazis.
When the emails finally get released...IF the emails finally get released, I wonder how much of them will be redacted. What is she hiding? Also, "Palin appointed Sullivan to his post in 2009, just a month before she resigned from office." Sounds incredibly suspicious to me.
Nothing really new here: Ms. Palin has repeatedly demonstrated that she is not really the open, honest, real person she claims to be. Frankly, I wish she would simply stay in Alaska and stay out of our collective lives. Nothing about her is appealing, interesting, or in any way educational for most Americans--unless we wish to dissect and learn something from her rather sad and disturbing story of unlimited arrogance, hubris, and personal ambition.
Let's see if Sarah gives us the old right wing standbys: release of her e-mails will embolden the terrorists (lmore probable they'l laugh themselves sick), endanger the troops or other surreal rationales for releasing what is clearly public infomation that will invariably be embarrassing if not the basis for indictments.
The emails undoubtably reveal what everybody already knows, that she used the government of Alaska as her personal servant and cash cow, abused her authority to persecute real or perceived enemies, and lied about everything. It would be funny watching her try to run for president with this kind of baggage, although it would make no difference to her zombified followers. Sooner or later, this is going to come out, and most of us will be appalled.
I'm holding my breath. I'm sure that the content of these emails has to be something brilliant.
I wonder why they are stonewalling. It seems that they should be able to do some small batches to keep the people satisfied. If they can't do that, then there better be some really good technical reason why. I think she is getting the state to slow it down because there is something embarressing in it.
they need to be made available to the public. She has to be the most incendiary two faced greedy person, not to forget judgmental we know. It will all come up and expose her ugly side which will match with the mean look on her face when she kills an innocent animal. Shame on that woman.
She looks old in that picture, no palin for President.
Kinda like all of Obama's emails when he was in Chicago. Nobody gets to see them. !!
What is there to hide in official correspondence (that is not classified security by the feds)?
If she has nothing too
Hide,then the e-mails
Should be release.
Secretive Republican seeks AG for clandestine subversion of Constitutional right to know about public business...
Will appoint with a promise of ultimate delay to release of documents, and for no money down.
Personal secret worthy of blackmail seals the deal
Contact Alaska Governor Sarah Palin.
Much like the Kardashians and the Hiltons who pollute our society, Palin is a brand and nothing more. Difference being, instead of hawking a overly large rear end, a ‘leaked’ sex tape and $2.00 perfumes at Walgreen’s, Palin is selling meaningless laughable patriotic rhetoric and racial and religious bigotry all wrapped up nice in an fabricated American bastardization of European Christianity.
Palin is a bigot, a racist, a liar and a coward. Who cares where her email is.
Maybe her email is I’mPoorWhiteTrash@andmysupportersareasstupidasme.com
Wait...I thought she had nothing to hide...
And no reason they will not delay it again in May.
Put this on Assange's to do list.
Just sayin'... I wouldn't be surprised if the e-mails were "accidentally" deleted or misplaced.
She is not going to run for President. She is just milking her last few minutes of fame and fortune for all it's worth. This will all culminate in a hour long Fox Special (similar to Lebron James' special on ESPN) for her announcement. How pathetic.
She will do anyting she can to avoid having those emails released. Everyone knows this. I would guess that she's terribly afraid that they will further expose her as being dumb as dirt, self-righeous, and vindictive. This isn't news...
