Boehner staff gets private swearing-in by Chief Justice Roberts

Washington (CNN) - John Boehner will be sworn in Wednesday as the new House Speaker, but his congressional aides were sworn in Tuesday morning by Chief Justice John Roberts in a private ceremony in the Capitol.

According to a senior Boehner aide, the incoming Speaker requested that the Chief Justice perform the swearing in for his aides, and attended the ceremony.

Boehner will take the oath as Speaker on Wednesday afternoon.

"Boehner will take the oath as Speaker on Wednesday afternoon."

And, in between his tearful sobbing, he won't mean a word of it.

Quite frankly, I can't wait for 'the swearing-OUT' ceremonies for these corrupt conservative cronies, wrongfully elected by by the ill-informed American electorate.

  3. Dumb and Dumber Boehner and Cantor

yep, I wonder if they all read the CONSTITUTION page by page to ensure that they follow through with the letter while discharging their duties in the new CONGRESS....

1.) Hoping to see that the GOP-Tea Party back up their campaign slogan and mandate that all bills they put forward be read aloud to the American people!
2.) Hoping to see the showboating repeal of healthcare law be read aloud and debated in the house floor in the full view of the American public!

NO BLUSTERING, NO BACK ROOM DEALS.....NO CRYING BY BOEHNER!!!

TIME TO MAN UP Dumb and Dumber Boehner and Cantor!!!

The American people have waited 4 LONG PAINFUL YEARS for this. Hopefully the cavalry hasn't arrived too late to pull the country back from the liberal abyss.

Why is this being done? Is this really necessary to take time out of the chief justice's time where he could writting his rulings.

Republican congressional aides sworn in by Chief Justice Roberts in a private ceremony, no less.
    No honor here.
Republicans reading entire Constitution out loud apparently before they tear it up and re-write it
    No integrity here.
Justice Scalia meets privately with Tea Party caucus.
    No "justice" here.
    God help us!

Nice touch, Mr. Speaker. Were Alito, Scalia and Thomas invited also? You could have all gone over to the Heritage Foundation after the secret ceremony for a round of brandy and cigars and trampled on the Constitution together.

Permanently extend all the Bush tax cuts, including those on the wealthy. Done!

Cancel all unspent stimulus money. As of today, about $258 billion of the $814 billion stimulus is unspent.

Repeal the Obama health care bill, replacing it with Republican proposals, including limits on malpractice lawsuits.

These are all in the Pledge to America and a great start for getting the economy back on track.

    Lynne

Monster....I've read article 1 section 8....and it doesn't say anything about laws against criminal conspiracies...it does have the following...To define and punish Piracies and Felonies committed on the high Seas, and Offenses against the Law of Nations

so, unless you consider republicans pirates and felons who have been causing trouble on the high seas then....your point works, other wise...you are wrong...try again
    _____________
Whatever you do Lynne, keep it to yourself and do not tell the Supreme Court reviewing the bastardization of the commerce clause found within that Article and Section noted that I was wrong... and by gang criminal conspiracies I assume you are talking about the most corrupt Administration ever, you know, comprised of progressive liberals? Just watch as a Republican led Congress dismantles this Charlatan. For those that continue to misconstrue repeal of healthcare and jobs, do not forget that it is 1/6 of our economy and is a business killer...I see that as addressing the foremost issue all in one venue.

Congratulations, Boehner. Now, what are you going to do with your responsibility? Actually govern or play political games while Americans in need struggle?

Are your "new" politicians going to continue wasting our tax dollars on worthless legislation that simply does not have the votes to pasS or work together for improvements? Do they want to be seen as needlessly wanting to repeal our seniors' donut-hole savings, taking away our children's pre-existing condition protections, college student coverage, insurance recission protection, etc? Please think about it.

wow could you imagine if a Democrat or any progressive had had a PRIVATE swearing in? The right wing would have sensed something sinister in it and attacked at all sides. OMG where is the outrage??

Sniffit – the sobbing you will hear will be that of Nancy Pelosi and her progressive cohorts, the sigh of relief you hear will be that of the American people at finally ridding themselves of this liberal infestation of the House with Pinko idiots.

its so, so true, that you will never, ever go broke underestimating the lack of intelligence of the electorate. These bozos(sorry Bozo) were elected to finish the job Bush started. Under such guidance rat will be the filet mignon of the future. When you see tax breaks for the rich(which are proven to only further enrich the rich not create jobs), you know just what their priorities are.

  21. Limbaugh is a liberal

It is amusing that republicans oppose the health care bill and yet they support every single individual part of the health care bill. If you ask a republican they will say sure, they want to repeal the health care bill all together. But if you ask them whether they support elliminating the provision about the medicare donut hole, the extension of health insurance to minors, the many, many subsidies to the seniors and their doctors, you can watch them waiver! Why? BECAUSE THOSE WERE IN THEIR OWN ALTERNATE HEALTH CARE PROPOSAL TOO!!! They are just sorry they didn't get credit for them! So instead they want to turn the whole thing upside down, 'prove' the health care law doesn't work by defunding it (of course it won't work if you defund it, but then it's just a self-fulfilling profecy, it didn't fail on its own merrits) only to re-propose the VERY SAME provisions as if it was their idea in the first place!
Republicans don't have an alternative. They just want to steal the credit!

I see he's already "greasing the wheels" for the right wing of the SCOTUS to judge in his favor when cases come up. Scalia, Thomas and the red meat righties were seen skulking in the wings wringing their hands saying "judicial activism ain't seen nothin' like us yet!!!"
